the other option is to melt them in ro before you put them in
I melt and rinse mine if they're not like rods or others where I actually want the frozen stuff in there. I could measure PO4 spikes in my 28 when I would add a straight mysis or brine shrimp cube.

I don't think an MP40 is anywhere near enough flow for that tank. I use 1 on my 50 gallon at about 75% as well as 2 MP10's at 100%. I don't know what they base their ratings on but I've been contemplating a MP60 and MP40 for the 90 I'm moving up to.

That's crazy. I don't know how you would keep track of them all.

I don't feed very often but I do basically the same thing, just manually instead of an auto-feeder. I don't think cycling the pump 2 times per day is going to cause excessive wear on a normal pump. It's when you try to pretend it's a powerhead and put it on a wavemaker that you start getting more rapid wear.

I just sold a car so sign me up for that soap fish they currently have

Isn't that insane!? (If you're serious that's cool, I'll need the pp up front tho) Cool fish but it better come with a 10yr warranty and do some amazing tricks. Possibly do water changes itself, eat bryopsis & aiptasia, etc, too. Wow.
Not at all on either... I can think of about 3000 things I would buy before a $3000 - 4" fish.
Actually eating bryopsis might be worth it though.

Was out of town but welcome. Good to have more south siders here.

Could be a digi with some weird growth. Polyps look more like a digi or monti than a birdsnest to me. May want to try higher light and see if it lightens up. Browning typically means it needs more light, assuming your PO4 isn't the cause.

The newer roy guerrero course off of riverside is nice if you can get on it before the crowds show up. It's got to be one of the longer ones in Austin. Searight is an awesome course. Circle-C if you're ever way southwest.

They've found several in Lake Travis and surrounding lakes as well.

Not sure what your budget is but check out the reef brite tech LED's as well. They are extremely bright and come in several color combos. The actinic only really make coral pop.

Is this curved glass or acrylic?

I knew I could fit a purple tang in mine. Thanks for confirming.

Just got back in town from a few week vacation. Not a big deal, just wanted to see if anyone finalized the judging or if this is just going to go out quietly.
-
I'll be back in Austin on Monday so can finalize and order this coming week.

AAA.
I was very disappointed in home brew the last 2 times I went, and not for under-filling. Apart from that it's easily 3x more expensive compared to AAA. Airgas wont fill for non-industrial use at all last time I tried.

Awesome. These guys are really one of the coolest fish you can keep in a reasonable size tank.

I pretty much went the same route with my pico contest tank, but the tank has internal filtration. AC70 does seem to be pushing it on a 3 gallon. I would even say an AC20 might be perfect for 3 gallons. The nice thing about extremely low stocking and hardy coral is the true lack of maintenance you need to do on it. I've been slightly reluctant to get sexy shrimp even though that was my original plan just because I don't want them to end up snacking on my rics.
-
I probably do, but I'm out of town for 2 weeks. I'll shoot you a PM when I get back. Probably around the 12th.

Do you have any fish right now? My diatoms went away on their own in about a month and 1 water change in my pico tank. It's fishless through so not much nutrients going into the tank. You may be able to just wait them out. They're definitely a natural stage in a tank regardless of the stocking.

I swear I've heard this track before, I mean never-mind...

Mean neon goby's. But I'll get with you when I'm back in town.
-
Do you do these orders very often? I would like some neon dottybacks for my pico, but I'll be out of town until Aug 12th or so.

Unless it's getting too much light, I would bet it gets better. All of mine seen to do that from time to time without there being any changes in the tank.
Tanked is coming to Austin

Only thing that really irked me was that shark fiasco. I don't watch it much but it's entertaining. They definitely fill a niche that most reef keepers want nothing to do with.
