Looks nice. I guess being photodude I should beat myself up too badly that your cell phone pics are better than what I can to take with my real camera .
That's one nice thing about the bml lights...pics come out much better with your cell phone.

Your tank looks awesome. I love my bml lights too.

Trade for low end zoa?

Since you would need a new stand (because the existing frame probably would fall over time) you could accommodate the wider tank and just put sheet rock over the new wood frame. Then adding the top of the tank to match the surroundings. Not too hard todo. I have a 65" wide tank so I bet you could find a tank to fit. Or make one. That's fun diy too.

Who knows why. I've had them split when I didn't see any stress. But now you have 3!

Does it have a shell? That thing looks huge.

Looks real good.

That's cool. Good luck. I've read the collection methods are particularly harder on mandarins. So if you can breed them, then great.

Do you happen to have any of those sea world raised corals?

Use plumbers silicon grease. That's what is usually used. Lowes or Home Depot has it. It comes in a really small grey container about the size of four stacked quarters.

Are hydrometers random? If sample A constantly reads 1.025 and sample B consistently reads 1.021, doesn't that imply it is not just hydrometer error?
That said, unless your are having major salt creep, or having a leak, I can't imagine wat it would be. I would not figure rock would be eating it. But I have accidentally lowered my SG by acclimating fish, discarding the water, and forgetting until I top off with fresh water. Cat went swimming and did it once, to.
For what it's worth (I haven't admitted this one to anyone here) but to raise my salinity I just let the water evaporate to the SG I want and then use SW to top it off. Seems easier to me than to mix SW to various levels and doing lots of math.
Not necessarily. There are variable with the hydrometer that don't play in so much as a refactometer. Ie not rinsing properly. But I don't think it's a big deal. How old is the tank? Ime new tanks take awhile to settle down. After a few months of keeping it at 35ppt or what ever your shooting for, it seems to stay pretty steady. I would check it against a refactometer.

I drove on 130 a year ago. Still no bill. If I call they say I have no bill. But then get a bill for $140. They won't work anything out said its my fault. Even though I called every month and its noted that I called. This is just a way to get more money. Oh and when I call they say they don't see that I owe any money. And won't take a payment. Maybe that's why they are going under.

Looks like one to me. Mine stay in the substrate. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It will probably hide/retract when lights are on.

Just my experience, I had LEDs in 2008. Just blue and white. Everything grew just fine. Better than expected. They were DIY and the wires I used failed so I had to upgrade. I won a bml fixture at a bml tour and was super impressed. Yes you need multiple fixtures but I really like them. Now i have three sets. On my fw planted tank and my reef. My reef is happy and growing using their reef spectrum and super actinic spectrum. And you can contact nick (one of the owners) and he is more than willing to help build exactly what you are looking for.
