Hello group.
After delaying my move, it's finally happening and I need some help moving my 60 aquarium.
I have 4 5 gallon jugs and probably need several more.
If anyone has buckets with lids that would be great too.
Please let me know if you can help.
I plan to move this coming weekend Feb 2nd and 3rd. I'll keep the tank moving date and time flexible to accommodate your schedules.
Thanks!

I have been experimenting with home made live rock and have a bunch of, well, it’s basically base rock. It’s been curing in a saltwater bath for about 3 months and will not cause a ph spike. There is some algae growing on it any maybe some other microbiological life. I think there maybe even some coralline starting to grow. Most of the rocks have a purple tint to them.
You can also see my other homemade rock in my tank that is just banging with purple and red coralline.
I have to get rid of the stuff before I move in 25 days.

Hey all. I have the joyous task of moving at the end of the month and would like to borrow four 5 gallon containers, the kind that you use when getting your ro water.
Can anyone help out with that and possibly the move? I will be moving Thanksgiving weekend. Just think, you can tell the family that you have to help a guy move and then after helping me for 30 minutes you can run off to the sports bar and watch football for the rest of the day. See, I’m here for you.

It depends on your stand. If it has a hole in the top, then you can drill in the bottom. If not you can go out the back. You could even drill a side and make it a peninsula tank(my favorite!).
A Peninsula tank would be bad a$$ but I don't know how much room future residental places will allow.
You could get super fancy and do an external overflow and a califlo(sp?) style intake. An external is what I am leaning with. I've seen some internal cali-flo types and like that but never an external. An internal kinda defeats the purpose of a sump.
Go any good threads for me to look at?

Bump, Still have the frags for sale!!

I might hit you up this weekend. Will you be around?

I move at the end of July and while I had my tank broke down for moving I am wanting to drill it for a sump, which I will have made at a later date.
So, I am looking for advice and help on placement, drilling, and sump incorporation.
I have a 60 gallon Jebo acrylic tank. I think the acrylic thickness is 1/2".

I will experiment with the drill bits, I have three bits and which is better..
i will be interested to hear how your experimenting goes. i will be drilling my 60 gal in a month when I have to break it down and move.

This post is like a striper on a brass pole, pretty to look at but frustrating as hell!

I've had my Catfish Lighting MH 250 watt 36" light for about three months now with out any problems. My only complaint is that the MH bulb is a little yellow for my tastes. I'll be upgrading the bulb in a few months so that's really minor.
Also, it uses a newer electronic ballast, not like the emfamous ballasts from the old Odessy's.

Found a pot that is wide enough to fit the rock in. Still interested in finding out more about the autocleave thing.

If you decide to make your own rock, DO NOT USE ROCK SALT or any kind of salt at all. Evenutally it will cause your homemade rock to break up and crumble.
