  1. Wondering if anyone went to T A&M at Galveston, do you know if their programs are any good?

  2. I have a bit of Grape caulpera too if you want some. dC
  3. You can learn a lot here, some of it what to do, some of it what NOT to do Welcome
  4. Should be a nice height for viewing, I look forard to seeing the pics with the tank on it.
  5. Wifey says, "If we get the house ready for the in-laws this weekend, I can go." If not, I will gladly share with a fellow vet. Did you read up on it?

  8. My SW plant tank has too much Grape Caulerpa in it. Anyone want a sprig of it? Some fish eat it in small amounts, can be a nuisance or it can be good for removing Nitrate. It is pretty and it tends to help hide/feed pods. Read up on it before putting in your tank. Looks nice when trimmed. If anyone wants to trade another macro, I would love to swap, but it isn't necessary.
  9. Austin Reef Club -> Gallery -> Viewing image -> Small aragocrete I uploaded 3 images to the gallery. Very porous, I want to make up some bigger pieces, but this was just to see if it would work at all. I have plenty of concrete, and some biodegradable packing peanuts to try next, along with some cool disk shaped "things" I created from mushed corn. I also I want to try adding some black plastic shavings(ever notice how the black plastic in your tank gets coraline ultra fast? Lots to try, hoping to have time over the Christmas break!

This is a view of the very first attempt. Recipe seems to work, just need to work on layout/form. My daughter helped on this one.

This is a view of some of the small first attempts I made with my 5 y/o son.
  14. Along this line, has anyone set up a small tank in series with a large tank (like some people do with a sump) so they can keep exotic/aggressive animals, but have the full volume to minimize the temp/water quality changes. Just curious.
  15. Best wishes with raising the berghia. I think they are beautiful critters. Partner's pet shop in Round Rock had a small live rock with about 10 on it last time I was there. Maybe they'd let you borrow it.
  16. Couldn't you just break apart the aiptasia? Afterall there is a reason they are called glass anemones. Feed em up good before you cut them and they should reproduce nicely.
  17. I made up a few rocks of aragocrete a few weeks back that have been pH aging in rainwater(when we get it) or tap water. Finally starting to see the pH drop to under 9. Hoping to have it ready to cure with natural live rock by Christmas. Anybody else ever work with it?
