  1. I just wanted to let anyone south know that I am putting in an order to reefs2go either this evening or first thing in the morning... If you want something let me know.... If you order pick up is in kyle.... Just PM if your interested....

  2. Just a passing/whimsical thought, but I'd love to see a large ARC community frag tank that can be set-up at frag swaps. It would be so much more convenient/efficient than a dozen people setting-up a dozen small frag tanks. Also, no more folding tables full of frags/corals in Tupperware containers or Ziploc bags, where everything looks like browned-out SPS.

Perhaps a long & shallow acrylic tank (built by Prof?).....maybe a special raffle to pay for it initially and then it can continue to generate revenue by renting-out tank space to sellers during the swaps?

I'd throw in some cash on a special tank made for this purpose. Whoever hosts uses WC water for it??

And maybe a sponsor can supply frag racks for a certain incentive?

I believe Prof already has an acrylic tank like this for sale..... its divided into 7 chambers.... just a thought

  3. Stephen I agree I too have been somewhat previewed to some of his changes and I think that he has some great ideas and will impliment them well... I too got very frustrated with the "only sponsors can have our group buy business" type personality that was becoming of ARC I think that Andrew did lots of great things and made a wonderful place for us reef addicts or dabblers alike to be able to come together.... But it will be nice to see the new life that Mike will breathe into it also.. Cant wait to see some of these changes take effect bring it on Mike smile.png

So Stephen does this mean you might just be sticking around afterall????

  4. +1 on what woods said... remember that when people say it will only grow to the size of the tank they are LYING!! A fish will grow to however big its gonna be no matter what... Oscars also require at least a semi meaty diet which usually consists of live feeder fish from your local petsmart or pet store.... They are SUPER messy and need lots of room.. When I worked at a LFS we went by the rule that Oscars typically need 3-5gal of water per inch of fish. They are more like goldfish. They must have good filtration and air or their life quality will be poor. They are like tangs in the saltwater world in that they need room to swim. They can make very personable fish in that I know people who hand feed their oscar. A 75 gal would probably be minimum as these fish get to be anywhere from 10-15in in length sometimes more... You also should be concerned with the fishes spine at this point which after being kept in a tank that is too small will start to curve and will eventually cause its demise later down the road... I agree the Oscar should be returned and something of more appropriate size should be purchased... Good luck and Happy Holidays
