  1. Well I ended up purchasing the same Skyline oak cabinet in cherry for 30x12. Neither of the online distributors had the skyline series listed and the guy there even thought R&J wasn't making them anymore. But when I told him Steve (guy at R&J) said they should be listed, the fish tanks direct guy was very helpful and even created a temporary listing on the website for me to order from. I'd agree with you that both sites have impeccable customer service! I'd recommend them to anyone. I also went with the Skyline to take advantage of the 36" height. I'm excited to get it...thanks for the background!
  2. Thanks for the info and pics Jestep! I'm definitely ordering from them. I was looking at the Calypso Birch stand, but after talking with one of their sales reps the raised portion on the bottom shaves off about 3 to 4" which I desperately need for the protein skimmer height. So, I'm looking into one of the other stands, possibly one with the 36" deck height option. Thanks again for your help!
  3. Wow, you only spent $250 on that stand? On the only other two sites I've found that sell R&J, those size stands cost at least $500. -> https://tropicalfishstore.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=49_186 I just called them for pricing and to see if they'll sell directly. What about the back? Is it pretty open or is there a plate frame? Thanks for the info!
  4. Anyone seen these stands in person? I'm thinking about buying one for a 20L tank, but I'm not sure if the sump will fit in the back since there aren't any better pics out there. The sump is a 14G Eshopp. http://www.fishtanks...eeshipping.aspx

    Tanks!

Is the 20L stand a cabinet or open faced? I'm looking for a nice 20L cabinet to house a good sized sump.
  6. Just wanted to close the loop on this...I'm set.
  7. Yep, I'm interested in a mag drive pump for a new sump setup. I've tried the sell forum too but looks like there aren't any available.
  8. Do you still have this? Is it a mag 9.5 pump? Willing to buy if so.
  9. I'll take the overflow box and return pump if they're still available.
  10. Thanks for meeting up with me last night...it was good to meet you.
  11. Let's do it again! Hook'em!
  12. I'll take the skimmer. I'll also take the Coralife light you posted in another thread. PMd you.

    Substrate

I have fine to medium course aragonite sand and also lose some while siphoning. As a result of this depletion, I've had to add more substrate once or twice. I've always used live black and white aragonite sand when setting up and adding, but since I've become more stringent with the quarantine process I wonder if adding live sand to an established system might introduce unwanted parasites/disease. Does anyone know if this is possible or true? Pardon the slightly off topic question.
