  1. Looks like I will be going the HO t5 route. Will no longer be using this MH fixture. Its a Coralife hang on back 150 watt metall halide lamp. In really good condition, but will need a new bulb. Has one now that fires up fine but does need a swap. Does not come with the the fan power cord. Asking $100 for it.

  2. I was at Chads place and got to see their zoas under the blue LEDs. I was genuenly impressed. Let me tell you I have NEVER seen corals florece the way I have under this light. It takes a lot to impress me now a days. Working where I do I get to see a lot of things come and go and get bored w/ the see things day after day. Seing this I gained some motivation........

  3. yeah but theres always two dying at the bottom for every one thats alive and that scares me a little bit

What you probably seing is a spooked or stressed fish. They can lay flat on their side like wrasses and other laterally compressed fish.
  4. Tank will come w everything build into it(baffles, pvc plumping, bulk head lok lines.....), Maxi Jet 1200, piece of baffle sponge, purigen w/ "the bag". and about 20lbs of Carib Sea Live Sand, and a little mag float.

  5. I knew this moment would come sooner or later. Looks like I might be going up in size here soon. Wanted to see if anyone would be intrested in buying this set. Heres a pic and the link to more info on the tank.I think Ill be asking $125. Comes with heater and maxi jet 1200 and possibly the skimmer. Light not included undecided on that too. I dont like the fact that I can only get 1 spectrum out of this...Anywho if you have any question feel free to ask. Still not sure if I'm stayin in the hobby lol.

  6. and I do feed "frozen" foods but theyre never frozen going in the tank. I agree feeding foods that are still blocks of ice is never a good idea. I know a lot of folks that do, take that extra couple minutes to thaw....

  7. At the moment mine are eating PE mysis and grass shrimp. I see the issue with the waste produced but Im pretty sure theres ways to deal w/ that. Yea they are not grazers but neither are hundreds of other fish we keep that still produce a ton of waste. I dont see how thats an issue when there is 100g+ mixed reef tanks loaded w/ larger fish that dont graze and still more that contribute to the waste load. It may not be the ideal thing to do but its doable. Ive seen some impressive reef tanks w/ predators that are pretty succelful. I think Volitans get way to big and just a little too lazy for my taste.
