classclownfish
I'm out of Austin for the next several months working. My roommate is feeding the fish while I am away but knows NOTHING about fish tanks. I need to hire one of the local shops to come in and do a monthly water change and check levels, etc. At minimum I'd want someone to come once a month, maybe twice a month with the second time just taking a look at it and testing the water. Who would you recommend? What do services like this typically cost? I live in North Austin if it makes a difference.

Laura
I use a very professional company to help me maintain the 7 aquariums I have. The name is ZUERST Exclusive. The owner is Justin and he is a Marine Aquarium Specialist who can be reached at 512-869-9149. He is pristine clean ,very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He comes with a list of references.

AlexKilpatrick
I'm curious. What kinds of things do these services provide?
+Eckreef
+2 for Misti at Sea Clearly. You can reach her at 512-600-4779 I used her recently when I was gone for a week of vacation. I had a friend come feed the tank a couple of times and had her come midweek just to check on everything (an experienced eye) and ensure that everything was running properly. My neighbor that comes and feeds the fish always points to some of my SPS and asks "now...is this really alive".
Reybeast
be best to call her for details on services, mine was just a matter of checking to make sure my water was topped off since I dont have an ATO. Like I told my wife, too much money invested in what we have to go cheap and have a neighbor look in from time to time. I've heard too many horror stories. PeeperKeeper
I don't regularly use a maintenance company but on the few occasions I have, I've been happiest with Ty Stout over at Clear Aquarium. 512 633-5430. He does a good job and always follows up to see if I need anything else.
