AlexKilpatrick
I have a couple of tangs (kole, powder blue) who graze on the rocks all day. I am happy about that. I decided to put some Nori in today as a treat. I put some garlic extract on it as well. They completely ignored it. I have had tangs in other tanks in the past and they always go crazy for nori. Is there anything I can do to make them interested? I'm at a loss.
+mcallahan
Mine only eats red nori, ignores green. I don't know what color you tried, but you might try another.
GKarshens
sometimes it just takes time for them to learn what it is. They don't really eat algae on a clip in nature so they have to figure it out. I have noticed it helps if other fish are eating it. The new ones seem to learn faster. colektm364
Mine would not eat the Nori from a clip, I tried for weeks still nothing. I saw on R2R where a guy said to rubberband it to a rock and lower it into tank with a small string.... It works! I used fishing line to lower into tank but my Tangs eat the Nori like crazy now.... Good Luck
AlexKilpatrick
I tried to rock solution and it seems to work. They aren't going crazy about it, but they are picking at it now. I was using some garlic extract stuff to put on the nori. I didn't realize how strong it was. I spilled a couple of drops and now my fish room smells like a italian restaurant.
