Crazy J
What would cause my anenome to spew a brown substance, than bring all of his tentacles into his base? He left a lot of them hanging out with no water in them. They are deflated and he just doesn't look very good at all. The only thing I did today was remove my urchin and replace less than a gallon water. The water was tested and the salt content, parameters..etc were all fine. All other corals (softies and sps) seem to be doing just fine. I'm puzzled? I don't know the habits of these guys and this may just be one of those things that happens every now and then...but I wanted to make sure... Derek
Sounds like it is pooping to me. My bubble tips do that a day or two after I feed them.
+mcallahan
Its letting go of some excrement (pooping) and probably doing a water change on itself. It'll be fine tomorrow.

Derek
Its pretty interesting to watch. The first time I had an anemone do that I freaked out. I thought it was throwing up and was going to die.
NonSequitur
Yep, I freaked out the first time I saw this, after reading so many stories of anemones self destructing in a tank I panicked, but he was back to normal an hour or so later.
