Rjohn
Today I successfully installed an Aquahub ATO kit. Now the standard 5 gallon square plastic bottle fits underneath my stand with a plastic tube coming out that feeds water through an Aqualifter pump into my sump. YEA! Now I might can use my protein skimmer as well. It really was fairly easy. After all, I did it and I am not very good with wiring and electrical stuff. It has two floats - one to start the pump and one that shuts off the pump if the first one fails to shut off and the sump overfills. Total cost was about $75 with the kit, pump, tubing, extension cord, etc. I'll take a picture or two when I get the wiring straightened out. I just kinda piled it in there for now. I feel a great sense of accomplishment.
innate1
You'll be amazed at how well your skimmer works now. Good on ya!

Rjohn
I haven't been running a skimmer at all for the past 2 months. I was using an algal turf scrubber. Everything seems to be doing fine.
