Well I am both new to the forum and the hobby. Have been working on getting my reef setup going for the past week or so. Just added rock tonight, time to let it cycle.

Any advice is more than welcome.

Thanks

Lee

Welcome. wave.gif

Take your time and don't rush things, give your aquarium the time in needs to cycle...it will be best in the long run. You'll find this site very useful and addictive!! Lots of great people here. If you have questions...just ask, you'll get plenty of advice. Can't wait to see the progress of your tank.

Just like in real estate there are three things about reef keeping.

Research

Feel free to ask questions/search the archives. You'll find that we all have lots of advice, most of it contradictory.

How many reefers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

That depends, MH or VHO. How many watts per gallon? Whats the color spectrum...

Everything seems to be running well for the time being.

The tank has finally cleared up a good bit, now the being patient part begins...

I am monitoring the tanks vitals while it cycles, never before have I been so excited watching a bunch of rocks!!!

Some more pics

The rock is not in its final location, I am sure ill move it around until I get it just the way I like it.

Just the actinic lights are on.
