apmark
Hi all, Can I cure my live rock in the tank that it's going to live in? How back will it smell and what are the potential problems? The guy I bought that setup from suggests doing this but i have a funny feeling about it. Tanks for any comments/experiences! Mark
hammondegge
yes, it will actually help the cycle. just scrub any noticeably dead organisms from the rock before adding it and plan on some partial water changes.
engwife36
I put about 75lbs in mine about two months ago to cure. It was a new setup anyway. Put the protein skimmer on high and did lots of water changes. Went through a nasty algae bloom to! confused4.gif NOW, the tank looks very nice!!! caferacermike
A little late but I also added 240lbs of live rock to a new 75g to kick start the cycle. I noticed only a faint smell for about 2 days and after that the water began to become crystal clear.
