He spends all day sifting sand but as soon as he sees any frozen food go in the tank he's after that too. You need a good heavy lid because he can get very spastic. Sometimes for no reason he'll spaz out and bump the lid several times. He's actually survived two jumps (one just now when I was doing a water change and getting stuck on top of netting that was covering the overflow...so he's extremely hardy!
