Lauren
I had to turn my sump pump off for a water change and now it won't turn back on. It is usually a little tricky to get it back on, but it's always come on after turning it on and off a few times. Anyone experienced this before? Any sugestions? Thanks Lauren
bozack
Is it making any noise or anything? Any clicking? Have you checked any of the outlets it may be plugged in to? GFCI? Surge protectors etc?
mawshi
my guess is that it needs a good cleaning. take it apart, at least the housing for the propeller, and clean it out. sometimes there's a bunch of gunk in there that prevents the pump from getting started again. another suggestion would be to change the propeller. it might be worn out or broken. this has happened in both my mag drives and my maxi-jets. i've always been able to keep my pumps alive just by changing the propeller part. hope this helps. good luck! Lauren
Thanks for the help! We did get it up and running again last night. It has a "thermal protector" so that if it overheats it won't turn on. We let it sit for a while and just left it on, after a minute or two it started up again. Next time we have to turn it off for a water change or whatever I think I will take it apart to see if it needs to be cleaned or anything like that. Thanks again!!
