**** Kessil Lighting Schedule ****

Recommended Posts

So I have a 40g breeder with two Kessil A150w. Right now I have a 12hr on and a 12hr off.

Is this too much light?

What is a good schedule to follow?

All I have are zoa colonies, 1 sps frag, frogspawn, gsp, red Monti. Everything seems happy, zoas are adding new polyps, sps is growing, etc. I'm just trying to utilize the Kessils better so they can last longer. 12hr on and off seems a bit much.

What do you guys think?

Thanks ARC!

12hrs on would be far too much, it would also promote unwanted algae growth. 8-10 hrs would be more proper as it provides plenty of light for corals, fishes, and macro algae to live. For instance, it's more ideal to have strong light (low hanging) in 8 hours vs weak light (high hanging) over 12 hours.
