tomanero
I'll be doing a reeftopia order later today. If interested, let me know. Thanks, Steve 512-461-3120
KarenM
I need snails/crabs to clean off the brown algae on the top of my sand. What would that be?
KarenM
Actually I'll be out of touch for awhile - got a meeting then need to get a new car battery. If you'll just order me $30 or so of whatever will clean off the top of my sand bed and/or take care of some detritus, I'd appreciate it. Nothing large, though, because they'll knock my smaller rocks around.
KarenM
OK, I'm back. Have you placed the order yet?
GKarshens
I would get some Ceriths Karen. In fact I will take a dozen Steve.
tomanero
Have to cancel the reeftopia order. I figured doing this through an LFS would at least double the price. Wrong!!! I stopped by River City and Carlos made me "an offer I couldn't refuse". I'd much rather "support my local sherrif" whenever possible. He ordered today for tomorrow delivery. I'm sure he'd be happy to add to it. Give him a call. Sorry for the confusion.
KarenM
I would get some Ceriths Karen. In fact I will take a dozen Steve. We can still do a RT order if you want, just give others a little time to jump in. They have the large ones at 12 for $15. Says they're 1 1/4". I'm a little concerned that they'll knock my rock around since a lot of it is in smaller pieces. What you do think?
GKarshens
You don't need to worry about Ceriths for that. Turbos, especially Mexican or Belize, are more prone to that. I think I will shop locally too. I am not in dire need but just thought I would replenish if others were buying.
KarenM
OK, I'll pick up just a few at a LFS then, too. I don't know that my tank will support too many just yet but I've got some dark brown algae popping up where the lights hit. Should I decrease my light time? I'm burning them 8 1/2 hrs a day. GKarshens
8 hrs is good. You just need a clean up crew. Blue leg hermits are good for cleaning the sand too.
Dee
Are Ceriths the ones that go into the sand with the little thingy sticking up? If so then I can use some more of those also...they're pretty cool. I'll check the site and see what else I could use. Dena
GKarshens
Ceriths go in the sand but the ones you are thinking of are Nassarius.
KarenM
I've got about 10 hermits, some are blue leg, but they hang out on the rock.
