I have had a coral beauty for 2 months now... When it came in the mail it had ich and fin rot... It fully recoverd or at least looked that way... Eating acting normal... Water Params are all fine... Feed frozen food with garlic ... Today it seems that his tail fin has started to look frayed and looks like the begining of rot again... Don't understand what happened? Nothing seemed to change...

Is there anyone that could be picking on him? Fin rot generally starts as physical abuse, followed by "poor" water quality. Note, this doesn't mean your parameters have to appear bad. It could be as simple as a bacteria in your water column, that won't show up on a test. Have you done anything to stir up the sand recently?

Fin rot is caused by gram negative bacteria, and can be treated with an anti-bacterial medication in QT or with Dr. G's anti-bacterial food.
