KevinB
A cleaner shrimp won't help...you need to treat with copper or hypo salinity in a quarantine tank
wesreyn
A cleaner shrimp won't help...you need to treat with copper or hypo salinity in a quarantine tank My yellow belly blue tang gets ick when I introduce new things into the tank. It is the only time I see the tang offering up for a cleaning and my fire shrimp cleaning her. I don't know if it is a special relationship between the two or not but the shrimp does pick at ick. With garlic soaked food and the shrimp, we always get through it. Knock on wood!!!
Woods
A shrimp may help some but it isn't the most important thing. It is far more important to keep it eating and getting the food it needs to keep its immune system up and fighting off the parasite. Garlic, Selcon, and Vitamin C soaked food is much more important than a shrimp. The other important thing is reducing any stress on the fish, if possible. Stress weakens their immune system. Derek
As long as it's eating it's fine. Fish deal with ich all the time. It is just a matter of being able to fight it off so that it does not become an infestation.

+Hydro
Will it eat seaweed? Try soaking that in garlic. What everyone said here is correct. I would add that if you can afford a UV it might be worth it for you.
