It was producing very wet skimmate, so I raised it in the sump by an inch, and the water level sits a little lower in the skimmer, now it comes up about halfway to the bottom of the collection cup, but the skim mate is still pretty wet. medi Posted January 8, 2012 Share Posted January 8, 2012 Looks like it's doing what it's supposed to, except I think you might have it skimming to dry now. Notice how te skimmate is collecting down at the top of the body of the skimmer. You wanted it set high enough where that is carried up into te cup. Hope that helps. Skimmers can be a real pain in te *** to get tuned. That's one thing that higher end skimmers are better about. One thing I had to learn is that once it's doing good, leave it alone, let it develop that slime on the inside, then it'll really pull out some good stuff!
