Woods Posted November 22, 2011 Share Posted November 22, 2011 You may want to also consider Live Rock and then just dry it out yourself to kill off anything and then use it as your dry rock. It will cause you to cycle your tank but you would go through a cycle anyway. Live Rock from the members of ARC is more readily available than dry rock from the group is and the ARC prices are still reasonable and comparable to dry rock. You can usually find it for $2-3 a lb. Woods Posted November 22, 2011 Share Posted November 22, 2011 Yes, I bought a bunch from prof when I started my 180g and it definitely looks like one and the same BRS rock. It is really good stuff and has plenty of holes to place corals and frags in it already. Mine has become completely covered in Coraline algae in just 4 months with a little help from some LR that had some on it already.
