JeffT
I have been troubleshooting my lighting setup now and think I have it narrowed down. By doing a continuity test on my wiring I determined that I had more bad bulbs than I thought. I also found that a couple endcaps were not making contact with the bulb pins. Once I got those issues straightened out I finally confirmed continuity throughout all wires. I plug the harness into the ballast and fire it up, but once again 2 bulbs light for a fraction of a second and then go out. I rechecked continuity once again to make sure I didn't miss anything and it all checks out. I am down to the ballast as the culprit, but would love to confirm the theory before going out for another 660 or similar T5HO ballast. Does anyone have a spare 660 that they could loan me? Any help would be appreciated. Or of you have any tips for anything I might have missed. Thanks.
luckylou
Try plugging the ballast in and out of the socket a few times kind of fast, and see if the lights kick on (THIS RESETS THE 660).
JeffT
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually went to try your method when I got home tonight and was very surprised when I first plugged in the cord and the lights lit up! That's great news since my ballast is good. I think that my endcaps are still problematic and will be looking to replace them in the near term. I can handle 3 sets of endcaps over a new ballast.
