mFrame
Hey guys, when I custom built my stand I used european nickel hinges. The stand isn't a year old yet and the hinges are drastically rusted. I can get more of the same and spray them with a clear coat, but does anyone have a link or source to rustproof hinges for this situation? JeffT
Try using brass hinges. You have to be more careful with the metal since it is softer, but I believe brass is fairly corrosion resistant.
+mcallahan
or find something from a boating source like westmarine.com. I have plenty of rust proof hinges on my boat and they've never rusted.
Mike M.
Any coating is gonna fail in the salt environment. You might extend the life of a European hinge by urethane coating it. Here is a source of Stainless Steel European hinges though...this would fix you right up: Stainless Hinges
