Will
Im keeping him and i bought a male (i found fry in my tank yesterday and my fish love to eat them) If you want one though they are very cheap and easy to acclimate
Teresa
I've definitely got a hair algae problem and am interested in looking at a mollie. Where can I find one? I'm very interested in the silver color as well.
Will
any fish store should have them, they will be found in the freshwater section (you will have to drip acclimate them to salt 2-3 hours)
Teresa
I thought they were freshwater fish - that's why I was confused. Do all of them eat hair algae? I've never acclimated a freshwater fish to salt before - how does the drip work? Can I easily make a drip system out of something I might already have? Will
To my knowledge they all do. To acclimate: Buy fish Temp acclimate it Pour out half of the water in the bag Set up a drip (there are deductions online for how this is done) Once the bag gets full pour out half of the water and let it fill again. Do this three times The drip should be pretty slow, 1 drop per second
Teresa
Thanks for the info! I just went out and bought a lyretail Mollie at Petco for $3 (yes, I am an impulse buyer). I'll update you on our progress as we go : )
Teresa
Acclimation was successful! I also added some pics and details in a post to the DIY forum titled: Saltwater Mollies Thanks for the advice!
