Will
I have a 37 gallon tank 24.5 X 18.5 X 21.5 sitting at home back in Dallas, and I am thinking about getting it and upgrading my 16 gallon. I would need to build a stand for it, but the stand would need to be able to hold my 20 gallon sump. 24.5 inches long. Would it be smarter to build it 28" or so for extra wiggle room? Does anyone have any advice on how to build it (i have googled it and there seem to be thousands of different stand build threads). also I think i would like to make a facade that i can just take off the frame fro maintenance instead of using doors unless it is cost prohibitive. Right now this is just in the invasive idea stage but i think i might be up to do it saying that school is about to be out.
lemonyx
You can use several different types of material, plywood sides and top and bottom or 2x4"s for framing this is a little long but the corners or legs of the stand can be just a simple "L" shape on all 4 corners with the top and bottom part's flat. Sheeting is fine using magnets and some thin ply.
