  1. From my personal experience, the only time we had a problem with them were when there was an odd number. The odd one out would try to school with the two other mated pair and neither pair would allow the odd one in. So he was continously being chased off when he would get close. I think if we'd put another clown in with the odd one we would have had three pair in one tank. Two pair never both each other at all. They just ignore each other until it's time to eat.

  2. I converted my 29 gallon freshwater tank into my first salt back in July 09. I had it running great, but by October 09, I had purchased a used 90 gallon tank that was reef ready. I say get started with it until you have a good plan nailed out. The down fall to having the 30 gallon was only the rock and fish converted over so I had to buy all my equipment for the larger tank.

  3. For Sale

I have the 19" CPR HOB refugium and I'm asking $50.00 for it. I used this on my tank when I first started the 90 gallon and it worked great. For anyone wanting to keep mandarin fish this is a MUST have item. The unit does not have a light; I used a desk lamp for it when I had it on my tank.

  4. Man that will make someone a GREAT Christmas present!!! You are right, I have the MP40 on my 90 gallon and one is enough to get the circulation I'm wanting. I could not be any happier with it! Good luck with the sale, someone will come along and need it pretty soon.

  5. The closer you get your main white lights to 6,700K the more inside the sun spectrum you'll be. The blue lights/actinic are for the most part used to bring out the glowing florescent effect and not so much for growing. However, to some degree the actinics are important. The closer you get to the sun's spectrum the faster PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) will start up and cause your corals to produce sugars and feed its self more efficiently. I use the Pheonix 14K 250watts on my 90 and my next light will be 10K. I have noticed almost double the growth of my hard corals from my switch to 14K from 20K. I'm looking to accelerate that even more by moving to the 10K's next.

  6. Thanks for raising the Mb for the gallery. I was able to load all the pictures I wanted to, but I had to load them one at a time. The zip file option and bulk upload funtion did not work for me. I am pretty sure I was using it correctly because it would start to load, status bar would slowly fill for about 5 minutes then it would kick me back to the ARC home page. It never state "Unable to Load"

Just a heads up on the multi load fuction.

  7. if they look like mini brittle starfish and all you see are the small thin white and black arms. I have hundreds of them in my tank now. I put three small one's in there about 6 months ago that came on a frag I bought and they brought friends! IMO just give it a little while and you'll see them poking out soon enough. If they're not what I explined then I can't help you.

  8. I have the CPR aquafuge for sale. I'm asking $50 for it. It worked really good when I was using it on my tank. I upgraded so this one has been in my garage. It comes with everything needed to get it working on your tank. I may even be able to locate some rubble rock for it if you needed some.

  9. Just wanting to know if anyone else is having trouble loading pictures onto the Gallery? I tried to load a zip file in bulk. I've tried individual pics and all come out the same. I get a red bar with an error message [#107145] The image upload failed, please contact a system administrator. I would like to add some new pics I took underwater of my tank last night.

  10. That's awsome! My cleaner shrimp, clowns, angel, even my lawnmower blenny will eat from my hand but I cannot get my mandarin to do it. She stays out all of the time now and doesn't bolt off when someone comes to the tank. She will eat frozen brine and mysis shrimp, but she just won't take that leap and take food from me.
