Such a cool anemone. Can you mix em with shermans?

Stand is now painted, stained, and poly coated. Still need to install door lights and handles which I may tackle tonight.
Scheduling a day with my brother to give me a hand with a custom concrete counter top for it.
Tank location was vetoed due to the wife not liking the glare in it's current location so the tv went back on the wall. Tank will now live in the current tank's location which is where I wanted it originally anyway but it would of been so much easier to have 2 tanks running at the same time. Now I have to figure out how to move the current tank out of the way without fully draining it. I think I still want to buy another 55 gallon tank and make another sump so I don't have to worry about timing.
I'll also need to work on the canopy next. I'm thinking of continuing the slat wood mix stain look. I just need to figure out a way to make the canopy hinged and open top. Any ideas?
Just catching up on your build... and must say I love this stand. Are those doors basically made out of 1x3s?

It kinda looks like a hydrogen bomb lol. Cool growth pattern.

Love the rics! They are easily my 2nd favorite piece behind sps. I used to have a bright pink one in my old tank... but haven't been able to find one since.
Where did you get that yellow one from?

I use RedSea test kits for everything. Feel they're pretty accurate and consistent. Are you testing for anything yet?
-
Haha yeah they'll just demand to go to both in that case.

Well just found out that we have a Fall festival thingy to go to this saturday...and guess what time it is....12-3! I'm not going to be able to convince my little girls that frags are more important than a pumpkin patch, face painting, petting zoo, balloon man, cotton candy and train rides. Just wanted to give you a heads up since I can't change my vote as coming. 😕
But I'll help clean up the sloppy 2nds if you have any frags left over afterwards!- 1

Sorry to hear. That's one thing I fear if I ever head out of town for an extended period of time.

I have a red head solon wrasse in qt right now...really cool looking fish! It was my 2nd choice to a Scott's Fairy Wrasse...but I could never find one of those locally.
Also couldn't help looking at your frag rack...got a few nice looking millies there. Is the yellow one a sunset millie?

I'm only a member of ARC, but I've read several of his articles and he's a genius. I used his articles to set up a kalkwasser supplementation system and kept it up for a few years, but later switched to a calcium reactor. Kalk is difficult to use and labor-intensive for larger aquariums or those with high uptake. At one point I was decanting 6 one gallon jugs at any given time and using two gallons every 24 hours. I also tried it in my ATO, but never got the hang of it.
Yeah I can only imagine on your size tank. I still have a relatively low coral load as most of my SPS are frags...so my uptake isn't bad right now.

Here is what I used to use to make kalkwasser. I eventually gave it up because the process was too much trouble.
I just started using this last week as well...to help supplement dosing as well as trying to raise my ph a bit. Obviously still trying to dial in how much I need to add to my top off water. If you're familiar with Randy Holmes-Farley over on R2R...this is all he has used over the last 17 years I believe for cal/alk supplements. And he knows a thing or two about water chemistry.

I'll take a piece of each. Will PM you.

If you end up breaking it up I'd be interested in a piece of both.
Really is a cool piece...just don't have room for it.

Hello from Canada. Came upon this site after doing some research regarding Leather Yellow Toadstools. Looking forward to read see what goes down on the other side of the world. Shame, but this is the WORST message board setup that I have EVER seen.
Lol...tell us how you really feel!
Welcome.

Dang you got a full house there! Think last time I stopped by you had a bunch in QT. Glad to see the achilles made it...such a cool fish.

They've turned on me! Ahhh! They've already taken the small dog. We're taking the kid and running! Save yourselves!
Only ones I'm selling right now are the Mak Corals Inferno BTA, $300 for my local friends if anybody wants one.
Haven't really posted locally since only BTA collectors really buy the nems I have. But I'm game if anybody wants it for a discount locally.Haha. They are pretty sweet looking. I'd love to grab one down the road...just wanted to rearrange my rock work a bit first.
And I'm guessing that was a typo...you meant $30 right??

Maybe a carpool? If enough ppl are interested, we could pitch in and split a van/gas
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkNot a bad idea. Except if I'm going that means the family is going... and that includes 3 little girls under 5 years old. That's gonna be fun... 😐
