Well, I recently got the same test and tested both of my tanks. It never changed colors so I thght my Mg was Sooo high, OR my test was bad. I took a sample to Nikos, Mg was 1240. So I took the test back to fish gallery and asked for help w/ it. Hard to believe, but it was operator error. Lol. I wasnt shaking the vile for the exact amount the directions said to. Not long enough. We tested their water and it was ok. I went home and re-checked my tanks, careful to follow the direction exactly. It worked. Lol. Not sure if that'll help u, but thght I'd share it

  3. I had 2 in my 35 gal. One I jst shoved a bunch of rocks over it so it couldn't come out. Noticed last night dang thing came out the OTHER side! The second one I was able to remove the Rock and scrub it. It TOO came back! They're sneaky little buggers!

  5. Jst stay 3/4. By increasing, the pump wld have to work harder to pump a higher volume. It's designed to run 3/4, I'd stick w/ that. I know nothing about reefs [emoji6], but I say that from a plumbing standpoint.

  6. "That's where I found the culprit - union fitting had come loose from the valve I 'm always having to adjust going into the sump. I'm still nervous I 'll get home and the tank will be empty, but that's just my paranoia."

Does it have threads? If u can shut it all down and unthread it, maybe teflon the male end will make a more secure fit.

  7. I looked into getting one yesterday bc I bought a filefish AND a peppermint shrimp to get aiptasia and NEITHER have touched a single one. [emoji19]. But then read they only live 6-12 mos, so decided not to (bc there was no way to tell how old the one for sale was)

  8. Ok, explain to the noob here what cpvc is?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

CPVC is basically pvc rated for a higher temperature. It's Off white w/ yellow writing or grey and thicker. The glue for the yellow is one can and no primer where as normal pvc glue requires primer and glue. The grey cpvc has a two can process industrial strength grey glue and any primer can be used. Cpvc is used on residential water heaters a lot
