  1. Are you going to need the doorknob trough again? :D I can help move stuff sans the tank. I'm only two months out of disc replacement surgery, and while I was just cleared to resume working out, my left arm has trouble holding a cup of coffee. So I'll offer to supervise, carry smaller items, loan the trough out etc. I also have a couple of return pumps you can use if necessary. What area of town are you moving to?

  2. Ain't that the truth!

I'm thankful to be able to afford this hobby (and another expensive one - horses...my daughter also has a pony) so I can't complain too terribly much. Besides - the credit card points are good for something, right? Too bad BRS doesn't have a branded card like Lowes. Special financing offers etc. I'm pretty sure I WOULD be broke at that point.

  3. Did you have any leveling required on your stand? My setup requires leveling on the back length (against wall) that is off by the thickness of credit card. Impossible to use shims and trying to get ideas on material to use to shim it.

An old credit (or Randall's) card? Not trying to be a smart a$$. Randall's cards are free. If it's only a 30g, I don't think the compression on a small area in two corners would compress them that bad.

  4. Since my last update things have only changed location. Still just shooting x rays and ct scans. I'd like to go to medical school, but I fear that ship sailed on me 2-3 years ago. Would have been a lot easier to do before kids

I have a 32 year old friend who is a single mom that went through 1.) Army flight school 2.) college with her son (whose dad is not involved) and is about to take the MCAT in order to apply for med school.

I think you can do it!

  5. Totally resurrecting this one, as I start my new job tomorrow. I've been in supply chain since graduating from Texas A&M in 2007. I got lucky while working for my previous employer, and thrown in to their major enterprise system overhaul project. I learned a lot about project management, and am now extremely proficient in a lot of SAP modules (we switched from an microsoft legacy system to SAP EPP, so have experience in warehousing, production, planning, purchasing, transportation and some accounting modules.)

I'd love to travel a little more, but being the single mom and primary caregiver to a 3.5 year old, it's just not going to happen. This job will require travel to China and California some, but maybe 10% or less - so I guess that works. It also offers a flex schedule and the ability to work from home whenever, though I'll be in the office at least 4 days per week. The one day I work from home I will probably do water changes on the tank biggrin.png

The new job hired my on as a PM, and I'll be heading up many of their SAP projects within the group. I got hired on QUICKLY - which is pretty cool.. I reached out to their veteran/military recruiter on a Thuesday 30 minutes later I had an e-mail from the head of the department. I spoke to the boss (department head) of my new manager on a Friday; my new manager e-mailed me Sunday;I had an interview Monday; and woke up from surgery with a job offer Tuesday. That was November 2. We decided on a Jan 9 start date as they shut down for two weeks over Christmas, and I had more medical nonsense to tend to. I absolutely hate working desk jobs, but they pay me really well, so I deal with it. That and my other job sort of gives me an outlet when I need to get away.

My "holy sh** that's so cool" job is a UH60M Blackhawk pilot for the Texas Army National Guard. Started off as a crew chief, and decided to move to the dark side. I've been playing Army and in flight school since May 2015, so going back to the civilian world is going to be a shocker. Currently grounded due to said medical issues, but hope to be flying again by the end of the summer. I've been in 7 years, currently owe them 5, and will probably suck it up the next 8 after that for retirement. It just depends on a lot of things. My mother is moving back to town this fall, and would be the caretaker of my tank, dogs and kiddo if I deploy so that's not an issue. I'll probably hire someone to come by and do tank maintenance (or pay someone close to the house on here) to go by and make sure everything is running ok, do water changes etc. This is probably the biggest reason I want to automate as much as possible.

  7. Just as the title states. Text me for pictures of used stuff. The wavepoint, heater and digital thermometer are all new in the box, and looks just like what you google online.

MP40wES: Used, not very long or much though based on condition alone. Picked up an extra for my big tank but don't think I'll use it. Selling for what I paid for it $350. **manufacture dates May-November 2011. I have four, selling one.**

Wavepoint 8 watt lamp. Never even opened the box. $40

Finnex 100w Heater w/ digital control: never even opened the box $35

Digital Thermometer: never even opened the box $5

2 Used for one month 600gph Koralias. $25 each

1 used I don't know how old Koralia but it's older - bigger flow than the 600gph (came with the 75 I bought) $10

25 watt Hydor submersible heater used 2 weeks - $10

    1/2" Barb x 1/2" Slip/Socket - have 2 of these. $3 for both

Five - 5 gallon water jugs. $30 for all 5.

    Cell: eight three two - 361 - zero 7 zero 3

I can meet in S. Austin around Ben White/Machaca on a weekend during the day. I have a newborn who dictates the majority of my schedule, so evenings are out unless you want to come to New Braunfels to pick up. I will ship on your dime.

  8. Dont let this guy send you pictures. He doesnt stop and the next thing you know you are $350 in the hole because it all is awesome and has great prices attached!!

That said I can't wait to get my loot next weekend

  9. 55 gallon tank - I don't have much in this tank $$ wise ($50) and was going to use it as a sump, but decided just to have one built instead. Nothing wrong with it, I didn't look hard for scratches but didn't see any, holds water just fine. Has an internal overflow siliconed on the inside glass, and a kent marine float switch in that. Would come off easy with a razor blade. $50/offer

48" Coralife Aqualight light fixture. 2x150 watt MH's, 2 x actinics, LED moonlights. MH bulbs good, actinics need replaced, LED's are good. $200/offer.

20" Coralife Aqualight fixture. Grew a ton of mushrooms and GSP just fine. Bulbs are good on this one. $50/offer

Would trade for cured live rock, frags or ? Really don't want to have to store this at the new house (and my husband would love if I got rid of everything to begin with; so make me an offer.) Bought a 75 gallon package for certain things I'll use on my big tank, and getting rid of the things I don't need. As soon as my 185 is up and running, 75g tank and stand will be for sale.

In New Braunfels, can meet in San Marcos (or possibly Buda this Saturday) with interested parties. Paypal will hold if not trading.
