Just throwing this out there I would chk ingredients first, but i'm told that smelling salts are pure ammonia. It is a powder though so you would have to dissolve it into the water. Dunno if it would work that way or not.

Maybe you could use a filter sock to catch any detritus that may come that way.

Im going to put a little school maybe 6 cardinals in the 185 when its ready. I have heard chromis can get a little aggresive towards each other and the wife and I like how the cardinals look more.
