  1. I plan on coming unless my wife made other plans for me and will be bringing zoas, the candy cane, euphyllia and whatever else I can frag today (see my for sale thread). I have company coming that evening so can't stay long but will certainly swing by and look forward to seeing everyone.

  2. Need to make room on my sand bed and want to share what I've got with you all.

First is a multi zoa disk with 20+ polyps of "blow pop" zoas (purple centers w/ yellow mouths and long green skirts). It has a small green yuma on it and a few polyps each of a bright green zoa and a blueish zoa. $20

Yuma with four polyps and 20+ "blow pop". $30

    IMG_1007.jpg

Blow Pop rocks/disks with 20+ polyps each. $15

    IMG_1003.jpg

12+ head very bright green/yellow candy cane. $30

    IMG_1001.jpg

30+ head candy cane with colony of purple and colony of orange zoas. $50

    IMG_1002.jpg

3-4 heads of hybrid euphylia (from Ace's tank in SA) and blow pop colony. $25

Pics are a little blue but they all look great under the t5 and vho's I use. Everything grows pretty fast.

  3. I posted to the zoanthid forum on RC asking about my very pretty (I think) zoas and a few weeks later got an email asking if they could use it for ReefSlides. I just took the picture with a Canon Digital ELPH point and shoot on the macro setting but it came out great. My lights are t-5 with VHO actinic and this is pretty close to WYSIWYG. Here is the link to the slide show.

    Here is the picture itself:

Now if I could just figure out the best way of growing these out to where they would stick to the frag instead of the main colony I could share :)

  4. My bday/father's day presents were a few gift certificates and the "go-ahead" from my lovely spouse on the nano wavebox from Tunze. It is on and functioning but it isn't pushing out the wave quite like I'd like and I wanted anyone's input on their experience.

I have a 75g RR tank (48 x 18 x 22(?)). I wanted to put it in the back right corner but have some rock positioned there. It is now on the far left side of the tank, just next to the overflow. I cannot quite get the wave set right and have fiddled with the delay from none to "all the way" with not great results. Any ideas on the best way of tuning this?

  5. ***************UPDATE*********************

Here is what I have left:

    Eagle/Dragon Eye Zoas - 1 large colony $45

    Blow Pops: 1 large $45, 3 medium $30

    Green: 2 medium $30

    Blue-ish with green skirts: 1 medium $30

    Large burnt orange: $30

    Mutli colonies:

2 medium Blow Pops with Blue-ish centers w/ green skirts $30

1 medium Blow Pops with Green $30

    1 Dragon/Eagle Eyes with Blow Pops $30

1 Dragon/Eagle Eyes with Blow Pops and a Green Ric Yuma $45

    1 Green w/ Burnt Orange $30

    1 Blow Pops with Blue/Green (huge) $45

All these frags have 30+ polyps.

The hammer and Candy Cane are sold but I am going to see if I can get another large candy cane frag off the mother colony for another buyer which may create one or two more smaller frags.

Please PM me again so that I don't forget anyone. I can meet maybe this afternoon, evening, Saturday around 2-3 and Sunday afternoon. I would also consider trading a colony of zoas for a like-sized colony of Fire and Ice or some other pretty zoanthid.

    Thanks!

    Dylan

  6. All PM's should be replied to. I live in Oak Hill and will be around tonight and later in the week (just not tomorrow). When I say 30+ polyps on the zoas in some cases there are too many to bother counting. These are very hardy as I take less than perfect care of my tank and they have done nothing but thrive.

    Take care

    Dylan

  7. I need to prune the tank to clear it out a bit and want to make some decent looking coral available to the ARC.

This is probably 30 heads of a super neon green/yellow candy cane. $50

    IMG_0104.jpg

A smaller version with 3 medium heads and several small. $15

    IMG_0110.jpg

30+ heads of branching hammer. Pink tips, green stalk. This is a large colony and I like it a lot. $50

    IMG_0107.jpg

    I have lots of Zoas.

Blow Pops 30+ polyps $30 (multiple colonies)

    IMG_0113.jpg

    Eagle/Dragon Eyes 20+30 polyps $30

    IMG_0114.jpg

Green skirts with cream center and blue ring 30+ $30

    IMG_2428.jpg

Multizoa rocks as well. Come and get them!

  8. I removed all the rock and did a full clean of my 75g and took inventory of my cleanup crew. It is pretty pathetic and I was turned on to reeftopia which looks to have some really good snails and crabs. I was wondering if anyone wanted to join with me to get free shipping or even a discount in a large-ish order. I suppose it could even be a group buy but since I have never handled one before, I am not sure I want to responsibility of 5+ peoples inverts.

  9. I I am paying more attention to my tank and things are really starting to grow (corals as well as cyano unfortunately). I have some zoanthids that could easily be fragged. I am interested in other colorful zoanthid species or LPS frags in trade. My camera isn't great and I am a total novice in using it but these are actually fairly close to how they look in my tank. If I end up selling them, I would guess around a dollar a polyp or around $20 for the big ones.

These were sold to me as "blowpops" but don't look as vibrant in my tank as they did in the sales picture. I like the tie-dyed effect.

    IMG_2426.jpg

This is actually the smaller "frag" of this green skirted, blue edged, cream centered zoas. They grow extremely fast in my tank.

    IMG_2428.jpg

I have two frags this size which were growing next to some fire and ice that will be fragable soon.

I live in Oak Hill and will be around this weekend if anyone is interested.

    Take care,

    Dylan

  10. Cleaning out the sump and my chaeto filled almost a 5 gallon bucket. I am keeping about half so the other half is up for grabs before it heads out to the compost pile. Call me at 301-9733 if interested. I will keep it around until Sunday. I am in Oak Hill near north Circle C.

  11. My cheato is dissolving! There are several possibilities as to why; from pouring alk buffer directly into the main ball, predation from a bristle worm that lives in the chunk of LR in the sump, or the reason that one of my ric's are shrinking to nothing but a mouth :) Whatever the reason, I need some more!

If you can help out, I would appreciate it. I live in South Austin.

    Thanks

    Dylan

  12. Hey Irish,

I have a rock of nice white xenia with many, many stalks which is about 8" high when fully extended. My wife wants to see if I can walk some stalks off onto a rock to keep one or two but I'd be happy to let the rest go very cheaply if you are still interested. :)

  13. Sorry I don't know of any personally but suspect you may have to make the drive to Austin. Bcoons on this board lives in Copperas Cove so he would know.

    Good luck and Welcome!

    Dylan

  14. Whoa. Impressive. Most impressive...

Hey brotha, could you spare a frag of those blastos(?) on your Longhorn Reef frontpage? :) That skimmer is insane! How tall is it? It looks about 4'. I bet the volume of the "nog" cup can be measured in multiple gallons.

    Again, amazing.
