  1. I am not sure if any of you have spent the night at Seaworld, but my daughter and I did it last weekend and it was a blast! The price is $100 a head, but IMO it is worth it. You get to go a lot of places that are not allowed when the park is open and we ended up sleeping in the Shark exhibit. Nothing like falling to sleep with sharks swimming in front of you. :o

Oh and we got to hang out with Jack Hanna for a bit as well.

What is the main age group there? My daughter is 13, would she be one of the oldest ones there?

  2. im starting up a new 110g rr tank and i wanna try something different.

i thought about doing the foam rocks but idk changed my mind. i was looking over on maast on some thread builds and noticed some people using acrylic rods and making "towers" sorta and i wanna try and doing that.

question is, where in austin can i go and buy some of those rods so i can get my project going??? :o

Check with Soonerfan - he did that in his tank and it looks perfect.

  3. FYI, the Tomini tang is doing great and gets along well with his other buddies. He's a great eater and devours anything and everything I give them. The frogspawn has also opened up and looks great. They are a great addition to my reef tank. Thanks so much.

That's great to hear, Colin. None of my fish had an eating problem. :) Thanks for the update!

  4. One last thing.....I decided not to keep the RO unit after all. I don't really know much about it. It looks like this one, I'm the 2nd owner, but the filters are still white (I read somewhere they turn brown with use). It's been outside off and on (connected to the outside faucet), so there's a small amount of rust on the screws, etc. Still works just fine. Takes about 10 hours to fill a 30gal trashcan.

  5. If its still available I will take the topoff. Are you by chance coming to the swap?? IF not I can pick up tomorrow if your available!

Many people have asked about it, but you're the first to actually commit to buying it so it's yours! I'm on call/working from home this weekend and taking the tank down so I can't make it to the swap.

I'll be home after 5:30 this evening and most of the weekend. There are several people coming to pick up fish, so maybe one of them could pick it up for you?

  6. So whats left?

Of the livestock, the coral beauty, foxface, sea apple, and urchin, all the rock and sand.

Of the equipment, everything but the koralias and the trashcans is still available.

As soon as I get the all the livestock spoken for I'm going to move the rock to the trashcans so I catch the fish. Then I'll post the rock, sand, stand (etc) on craigslist.

  7. Karen,

I'm interested in the neon dottyback,

The sea apple also seems interesting but I read that they're difficult to keep, espcially since I'm in the process of moving everything to a 75G. So maybe I shouldn't consider it at this time. What's your experience on keep it so far, how easy or hard is it?

    Thanks,

    John

Sorry, John, the dottyback just sold. But he killed a small goby I bought a couple of months ago.

I didn't do any research before I bought the apple. A LFS sold it to me and told me nothing about it (not any LFS that posts here). I have little bottles of filter food that I mix with water and pour in the tank every 3 days or so, and the apple keeps it's feelers out eating and seems to be happy. I panicked after I bought it and THEN did my research, but it's really never caused any problems. I've had it since last spring or summer.

  8. Karen,

I'd like take the two Koralias and possibly the ATO, as I'm setting up a 75G to replace my current 55G.

Please let me know whenever they're ready to go.

    Thanks,

    John

I'll put you down for the 2 Koralias, and please let me know about the ATO when you decide. Hopefully everything will be ready to go this weekend.

  9. ill take the shrimp and gsp karen

OK, since they're pretty easy to catch, you can pick them up anytime. Do you still want the cleaning crew? I'll probably need to keep them until I tear down the tank.
