  1. Thanks for the offer but I have placed on order online with reefcleaners.org. I checked all the LFS is Austin and none had any. I have chaeto, caulerpa and ulva in my fuge but wanted to get some gracilaria as a food source for my tangs.

    Sea Hare

I'm looking to buy a Dolabella Auricularia variety of sea hare. I'm trying to get my hair algae under control and understand they are very effective. Please PM me if you have one you want to sell.
  3. Anyone have a handfull of red or green gracilaria they would be willing to sell or trade for a handfull of sea lettuce (ulva)?
  4. Why is it that airstones are not used in saltwater aquariums but they are used extensively in freshwater aquariums? Don't marine fish need oxygen as much as freshwater fish? As the water temperature rises isn't the amount of oxygen depleted? So why not use them? I guess there must be a good reason but danged if I know what it is!
  5. I use ReefCon Pro and love it. You can download it here. http://infinitysoft.net/ReefConPro/
  6. Hi Andrew, Thought I'd let you know the Pyramid Butterfly is doing great and eating well. Many thanks Thanks, Colin
  7. I wouldn't attempt to split it. It will split on it's own when it's ready. My BTA has split twice but my LTA hasn't split yet and I hope it doesn't. It's about 5" and I'd prefer it got bigger than split.
  8. I also got some chaeto from Steve @ Horizon but I guess my Madarin ate all the pods! I also have four clowns that love them and I'm having a hard time keeping enough pods for them. I've set up a new fuge with chaeto and sea lettuce and there's hardly any pods in it right now so I'm looking to seed it with some pods and control what gets released into the display tank so they can breed and multiply!
  9. Did you get my PMs? Let me know when I can stop by and pick some up.
  10. I'd love some to seed my fuge! I'll PM you my info.
  11. Thanks for the offer but I have a lot of cheato and some sea lettuce. The sea lettuce is growing great but the cheato is not doing very good at all and I need to find out why. From my research it appears cheato does best under a 6700K light so I'm going to change the 50/50 PC bulb in my Aqualight with a 6700K bulb. What bulb do you have over your refugium?
  12. My cheato is not doing that great. What light do you have on your refugium and how many hours a day is it on? I have a small Aqualight with a 50/50 96W PC bulb and I think this is the problem. I'm planning to change the bulb for a 96W 6700K PC. I don't have a lot of space over the fuge and I use the the Aqualight as its pretty slim.
  13. If they were swimming around they had to be alive! Probably Tigger Pods! I stopped by the AquaDome yesterday and they had a small bottle of live Tigger Pods (large copepods) for $21.95. Didn't seem to be many in the bottle for the money! I also PM'd JordanJ on MAAST. He cultures brine shrimp and will also be selling live copepods shortly. The other alternative is to order online from oceanpods.com or ipsf.com
  14. Thanks for the info. I'll check them out. I was there earlier this week and they only had bottles of "arcti-pods" in the refrigerator. I'm looking for live ones to seed my refugium.
  15. Does anyone sell live copepods in the Austin area? I'm looking to seed my refugium.
  16. Hi Kyoung, nice job, you're a brave man drilling the tank yourself! Glad to see you made use of the overflow boxes!
  17. Dave, I just PM'd you with my suggestions.
  18. Good to meet you and thanks for driving all that way! Let me know when you're in Austin again and if I still have the plastic overflow corners you're welcome to take them.
  19. ARO AS-220 electronic ballast, 4 end caps, wiring harness and 2 x 48" Super Actinic VHO lamps for $75. Located in Lakeway close to 620/71 intersection.
  20. I have a sump and a fuge that I no longer have any need for. Both measure about 16H x 12W x 24L. Need cleaning. Free to anyone willing to pick them up. I also have two curved black plastic corner overflows as used by Oceanic. Just silicone them in the corners of your tank to create an overflox box. Also free! PM me for my address if interested.
  21. FYI, the Tomini tang is doing great and gets along well with his other buddies. He's a great eater and devours anything and everything I give them. The frogspawn has also opened up and looks great. They are a great addition to my reef tank. Thanks so much.
