Ive been trying to figure out how much led lighting i would need to replace 2x175 watt metal halide on a standard 75 gallon tank. Fish and a few Softies. I want to keep the shimmer of the 175's but lose the heat and power usage. Any points in the right direction would be appreciated.

Whats the best way to wash filter socks? I don't want to contaminate my tank

I have been fighting it for years. At first I thought it was cool then it and aptasia over ran my tank. I had to scrub it all out. The aptasia never came back but the **** bubble algea is persitant. I have tried everything. At one point I had 10 emeralds in the tank and the stuff kept on growing. Now I just remove the bigger ones manually and live with the rest. Im currently setting up a 20 long and stuffing it with cheato to see if that will get rid of the rest. Good luck

Well I have almost given it up a couple of times over the past 6 years. It does seem like a money pit sometimes kinda like my boat did. Then someone comes over to my house and I get to explain everything that is going on in my tank. While im am doing this I get to see things that I had forgotten about and it really gives me a sense of accomplishment and wonder. Surprisely it really does relax me when I come home and just look at it.

I bought an auto top for the tank and it was working fine. It malfunctioned the other day and I was lucky I was at home and caught it or I might be selling my system right now. Ill check the brand when I get home. It wasnt a senor that malfunctioned either the whole thing is glitching. I dont know if it got water in it or what. Just when I think things are going good finally.

So im going to have to buy a different one. I was looking at the Tunze auto top. Its is rather pricey at $200.00. So im looking for opinions on this ATO or suggestions for one that is good but less expensive.

Making a stand alone fuge and need a tank. It doesnt have to be pretty. Would prefer it drilled or reef ready.
