  1. My experience is that a fresh water dip actually stresses the fish out and hurts them more. I have been feeding them food soaked in garlic and they appear to be fighting off the ich but I will take more measures for safety. I actually believe the FW dip is what killed them by weakening their immunity with my previous fish.
  2. taking the advice. Any reccomendation on affordable UV lights? Thanks again guys!
  3. new to the tank. I think they have been in there for a couple of weeks
  4. Thanks for the advice. I am about to have a melt down. I was baffled by the itch again. Well turns out for some unknown reason my heater was not turning on (tank must have been almost freezing last week). My apex unit was turning on and off properly but for some reason the Heater would not power up. I assume the internal thermostat had something to do with that. I just cannot believe that happened.
  5. A massive outbreak of ich killed almost all of my fish 4 months ago. I left the tank empty for 3 months and recently added three fish. The fish were QT'd for two weeks and then somehow broke out in ich 2 weeks after introduction into the display tank. I have tried everything in the book other than a UV light. I was wondering if there was anyone in the general vicinity of Waco that would either lend or let me rent a UV light from them. I would be much obliged. Thanks for any help.
  6. My parameters are in check but the two mushrooms I have in my 37 gal will not full expand they just stay shrivelled. Oddly, they look amazingly healthy with great color so I suspect maybe the light or flow is too great? I am just wanting to know if anyone has had a similar problem and how they handled it. BTW I have Zoa's in the tank and they are in perfect condition.
  7. Are you willing to ship to waco? its like five dollars for the shipping and I can pay you for shipping and the frags over paypal. Me and another member have done this before and it works
  8. Got my DIY led build completed today 12 XTE blues and 8 XML whites and let me tell you these things are blinding. Oddly enough I put a faded out coral in there and within 10 minutes its color returned! I did not think that was possible!

  9. See I was wondering that too I thought it contained some coraline. There is some in my tank but it does not seem to be growing I am contemplating buying this product.
  10. This probably wont work for me unfortunently because I live in Waco and Austin is already a hike for me.
  11. I need a ro/di system so I could contribute about $85 or so.
  12. What are the three stages and what filters are in each. Thanks.
  13. I would also purchase a couple of things keep this post updated with dates please!
  14. Anyone bidding on AQUA SD frags on ebay? I only want one frag and was hoping to ship it with someone who had extra space!

  15. Has anyone had any success with this product? I know that it is not necessarily needed, but if anyone has used it did it help?
  16. Aquagirl. I would not go a 1:1 ratio depending on which LED's you are choosing this is actually very important. When are you planning on making this purchase? I want to provide you with the correct information but its so much that it would be so much easier to make a youtube video. I cant make the video until Wednesday though because my shipment gets there on that day. I am making a all inclusive tutorial for led selection and DIY. If you are doing it sooner than I can just write the information down I guess.
  17. if you husband made that proclamation then you should inform him that he will be helping you with a DIY led build lol.
  18. Got my neptune unlocked again and began setting it up... I got the controller to control my koralias with the wave feature... So far it is really cool and I can see that it is creating pretty amazing flow in the tank...
  19. Got one box of goods in today! This is just a teaser for my LED build which I will be making a youtube video about because I really think people will like my build. There is so much information about LED's out there but it is so scattered it literally takes weeks to put it together.... Sooo basically the video will try and help people who do not have weeks of their life to devote to a build be able to find some information out. Anyway in this box are two hydor evo 550's and a Ac jr. Here is a pic of the way I set up the powerheads... So far the way they are facing is really pushing some serious current through the tank... Once I get the AC JR set up with occilate I think that these powerheads are going to move some serious water... On a sad note I locked myself out of my AC JR. after playing with it for about 15 minutes lol.... So I have to call neptune tomorrow... Man they should say in the manual not to turn off DHCP unless you wrote down the IP address lol!!!
  20. it looks like there is monopoly and some tater tots on the ground lol!
  21. Does anyone know of any place in Texas pref Austin that can cut glass for a small aquarium? I am making a 5-6 gallon custom nano but cannot find glass cutters. Thanks!
  22. I am installing a DIY led on my hood. I have savaged the internet looking for compatabile affordable controllers and I have put together a great kit. I will a DIY thread for this LED build because after days of not finding what I wanted I think others will also be interested in this build. It is interesting because with the $70 controller you can control up to four seperate sets of lights (whites, blues, violets), fans, and moonlights! I have not seen anyone do this for 70 dollars. Also, the controller features a daylight and moonlight timer that dims and brightens the lights over time. This build will be really cool! If you are interested in watching on it I will make a thread for it as well as post it on this tank thread. Lastly, thank both of you for the compliments!
