Welcome! We would love to see pictures.

Welcome!
Do you have a skimmer? If you don't, get one. It will make the tank much more successful.

No problem. Glad to help.
Now, lets see the build pictures

Limestone makes great base rock. Not as good as live rock but still works.
No need for an airstone but you can use it if you want.

My house is available for tours, meeting, beer drinking, etc. I know that azcummings wanted to setup a 'meeting' to hang out, talk, and drink.
I think the Austin Pond Tour is pretty well organized and gives the general public a chance to see everyone's hard work. If we follow their example I think it could be a very successful event. It will take some time and dedication from a few people to make it happen.

It is looking good. Nice to meet you yesterday.

$1.50 per lb. for dead rock. Great stuff to start a tank or to add to an existing setup. I also have subtantial amounts of live rock, with varied prices.
PM me if interested.

Tarpon!
I am in. June or later is probably best but we need to nail it down soon to get reservations at the Tarpon.
Always nice to keep it loose and free so people can be as involved or not involved as they want.

The solution to pollution is dilution!
This is one of those times when more is better.
Just mount it on a trailer. You could go house, to house.

I wonder if he would eat salt water mussels that you can pick up alive at the grocery store...
Cool tank.

I would drain it completly. Move everything except the sand into a temp. holding tank and then make the move. I have tubs you can borrow if you need one.
Make sure to make up some extra salt water in advance. Run a hang on filter to help suck out the free floating debris as you stir everything up. A little carbon will do wonders. I can loan you a filter if you don't have one.
I also have a perfect 120g that you can have for $350 if you want to upgrade
Good luck. Let me know if you need help.

Ok, here is the solution
You are on the ocean so you have a constant supply of salt water. If you plumb it like a live well you would not need any fancy filtration. Just pump sea water through the tank. You would still want a mechanical filter to keep ocean trash from getting to the tank but you could do that inline and not have to worry with a sump, skimmer, or anything else. With this design you could almost get away with having a sealed (or nearly sealed) tank.
I would definitley use an acrylic tank. They bend much more before they break

Just dropping in...
3 bulb 36" PC fixture. $50 OBO.

They are 55/65w bulbs. It is a great fixture, perfect for a 30" long tank. It would work real well on a 20g long.
