  1. thats very comforting to know! I went and bought 10 ghost shrimp and they ate all 10 as I dropped them in one by one but as for the brine they ignored it like the mysis. but now im seeing this red spot on one of my horses face surrounded by a few white-yellowish bumps kinda looks like a pimple. ill start a new thread

  2. Yea ive been skimming really heavy real wet along with netting out anything that isnt eaten. I got them from RCA and was told today they arent eating frozen but live ghost shrimp. They dont touch adult brine shrimp at all either so not sure what else to try. Thanks for the tips

  3. I'll probably get roasted by other horse keepers but the eel grows to be only about a foot long. I've kept these eels with gobies and other small fish with no problems at all as they were quite content with ghost shrimp frozen mysis and table shrimp.

  4. A little about my tank. Its a 100 gallon with about 200lbs of rock. Its lit by 2x150w hqi and 2x130w pc. I have a 55 gallon sump running a euro reef cs8-1 skimmer and a 1/3hp chiller temp is kept between 78-80. using a mag 12 as my return and also run a tunze wavebox. Just added 3 tiny chromises along with my 3 tiny firefish. Im also waiting for my golden dwarf moray eel to come in. Sounds like im taking things a little fast but 1/4 of the rock my sand and 2/3 of the water are from my reef before I redid the tank.

  5. thanks! Its a mix of foam and rock. I have one little firefish in there right now and just bought a golden dwarf moray eel which should be here thursday! Then im probably gonna lay low for a little bit and let my system catch up to handle the bio load.

  6. THe idea of a seam failure is really scary. There is nothing you can do to prevent that or mitigate it (short of going acrylic).

For you guys who had tanks crack, how old were they? Did you have any warning signs?

we had the tank for years. The center brace fell off but we didnt think anything of it and one day during the middle of the night we heard a crash and rushing water and 150 gallons of water, glass, gravel, rocks, and fish all over the floor. A couple of the fish made it but whhatever landed on sharp glass was gone.

  7. Hey,

Didn't you bother to read the post in front of you. I answered it with, I have aquacultured Ocellarius Clowns that are less than 1 year old for $15 each. Because I subscribe to natural reef keeping and believe in establishing the micro-inverts as a viable part of the food web and nutriant cycling, it is my opinion that stocking reef fish at the early stage of your set-up circumvents the developement of the food web. Everybody wants it right away and patience is not a virtue in our consumer economy. I have had the fish for two weeks in my growout tanks and 10 are available at this time.

No I didnt... <_< but will let you know when Im ready for fish. Im just looking for any healthy captive raised fish people may have and want to sell before going to the lfs.
