    Kinda new to this

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. It seems like everything that I've found has said that this particular type of cement is ok so I'm gonna go ahead and try some of the stuff I found on here and other websites and see what happens lol. Its worth a shot. I think it would be fun to make my own rocks. Then I guess I'll just make sure I soak em all and cycle em really good before I put anything in the tank. =)
  2. So I've decided to take the saltwater plunge lol. I've had my tank since about march/april and its been cycled already. Water parameters are great. Its kind of a funny story though because I was originally going to do freshwater, saw all the cool things I could do with saltwater, and jumped ship. So up until the other day, my saltwater tank looked like a freshwater one. All the decor was the same, only it was running saltwater out of a regular filter. I know, shame on me lol. Well this past weekend I finished staining and putting a clear coat on my custom built tank stand. I have a 55gal. So I got two koralia powerheads and an overflow box, built the sump out of a 30gal tank I had from my snake, took all the old decorations out, and emptied all the cycled water out of the tank and into 5gal buckets. My house looks like some warehouse threw up a bunch of orange 5gal buckets everywhere lol. What I'm wondering is, cuz I've heard it done, is what is everyone's opinion on building a rock wall against the back of my tank using porcelain #3 cement? I want to make a bunch of shelfs for future corals and whatnot and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this. I'm part of the SCCT as I am from Harker Heights, near Ft Hood, and was told that I could probably find some answers on ARC. So here I am. Any advice or suggestions are always appreciated. I can't wait to get my tank going so hopefully I can get some fast replies. Thanks! =)
