  1. If anyone is interested, I still have the 72" Solaris 20K. I've been looking for an English Bulldog puppy and was wondering if anyone knew of breeders or if anyone on this forum would like to trade the Solaris for a Bulldog?
  2. I haven't renewed my post on my Solaris for sell. I still have the 6' (20K) lighting system for sell and I've had great coral growth with the lights. They work great. I just need to sell them. I'll probably end up getting VHO's later as I still want to keep in the reef keeping hobby, I just haven't had time to care for the tank and have gotten rid of most of my corals, I just have a few fish now. But again, I've had great coral growth. I've had these lights for almost 7 months now the lights have been good to me. I actually had a 13K version and decided I wanted more blue so I traded for a 20K version. So in all I've had a great experience with the Solaris. I just want someone really interested in reef keeping right now to get a chance to buy these lights. I'm asking $1,500. I bought them for $3,500 but I need to sell them as soon as I can. I live in Abilene, but have family in Pflugerville. So I can try to meet almost anybody half way, depending on where you live. TriggerDIVER
  3. I actually live in Abilene, TX. I signed up with this forum cause I go down to Pflugerville, TX often to visit family. The store is called Pam's Pets and Fish. Yeah, I don't know why they keep dying on me either. I bought a clown tang, I know it's a totally different fish, but I bought one with the clown and the tang is doing just find. And I had another fish in my 24 gallon aquapod that did just fine and the day I bought the clown fish, I gave the fish that was already in my aquapod to Pam's Pets and tested my water and it was fine. And clown fish are my favorite fish. But I don't wanna keep losing these fish, so I'll try getting more experience I guess. I've been doing this for about a year or more and thought I was ready but I guess not.
  4. Well, already in the past year, I have had a few arguments with the manager of our LFS. He's the type of guy that is pretty knowledgeable about marine aquaria, but man, he does not have very good customer service skills. He is rude to almost everyone that asks a question, like "why are you asking me, find out on your own, it's not that hard." Which I mean, yeah, research helps but man, he is a jerk most of the time. I'm apologize for talking bad about someone, but I'm stuck here with only 1 marine aquaria store and the management is snobby. Like, two days ago, I bought a clown fish, and I told him I haven't had much luck with their clowns and that my water is testing perfect and asked if he thought this clown would be ok. He said yeah, it'd be fine. So I bought a sebae anemone to go with him and he was the only fish to be in the tank. So you would think he'd have it made. So I go home and acclimate him and he dies. I go back to the fish store and I tell the manager what happened and he said, sorry, we can't do anything for you. For a VERY loyal customer (there was another LFS that recently closed last month and yet I still stayed constant with Pam's) For a very loyal customer, you can't do anything for them? He went on to say, "I actually don't recommend those clowns to anyone. Then all of you get mad when I get tank raised and they're expensive but they live. But yall just buy these cause they're cheap but they all die." I've bought a tank raised before and still no luck. But anyway, sorry for ranting on and on about this, but I am fed up with this. Do any of yall have bad experiences with LFS? What other route can I go to buy marine aquaria? Internet? Thanks!!!!
  5. I love puppyfind.com. I got about 3 of my dogs from that site. I don't have but the bulldog left, but I got my 2 Great Danes from there. Very pleased with that site. I hope you enjoy your Sheltie!!!! We have a Collie and he is the smartest dog I've ever owned. Sheltie's are very good dogs. My in laws had them on there farm and they are great! But going back to Mastiffs, I guess one down fall is the mess they'll leave in the yard. One would have thought I had cows in my backyard if they saw those patties my Danes left!!!! Sorry for being disgusting, but it's the truth. I don't know, we're still really trying to decide on what breed is right for us. We just want a dog that can keep up with our children and a bit bigger dog than our Bullie. We love Goldens and Labs so we're still not set on a Mastiff, but if one comes around I'll let yall know. Again, thank you all for yall's valuable input. If you have more, please keep em coming! Jeff
  6. And no, I don't mean they love little children cause they eat them I've gotten a few smart comments on other posts They are very protective and let children play with them. Jeff
  7. Thanks for the replies! I'm still looking for the right English Mastiff and I've come close to trading my Bulldog for one, but it didn't work out. I'm still doing my research on them, even went to our local AKC dog show last weekend and got to see MANY Mastiffs and got to talk to the owners. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from both people that own them and people that don't. They say they are very gentle, GENTLE GIANTS!!!!, and they are very guarding towards it's family and how they love little children, which is a HUGE plus in my opinion. I hope I find one soon!!!! Keep the help coming! Jeff
  8. Does anyone know of anyone that breeds and sells English Mastiff puppies? I am really looking for a fawn male puppy, but can't find anyone around that has them. I'm willing to trade or buy. I have an AKC English Bulldog puppy that I am willing to trade or anything saltwater such as lighting or whatever. Thanks!
  9. I want to sell my 72" Solaris 13K Illumination System. The lights work great! I've had great coral growth. I'm moving to a new house (my wife and I are expecting twins!!!!) and I just need to sell these lights for the money. As you know, these lights are very expensive, I got mine for $3,500, but to get them sold ASAP, I'll let them go for $1700 OBO. This is a GREAT offer on some AWESOME lights. Great coral growth, great look for the tank, beautiful technology, no dimmers or chillers needed (I actually use my heater even with the lights on) These lights are great!
  10. I have a 220 DAS aquarium that I'm wanting to downsize. I'm wanting to get something around a 150 gallon tank, so if you have one to trade, I'd be interested. Tank is in perfect condition. Selling the tank would include the Solaris Illumination system at 3,000. Without the Solaris I'll sell for only 1500 OBO. If you have a reef ready tank with reef lighting (preferably metal halides or vhos) then I'll trade even the tank with the Solaris. The tank is in perfect condition, I just need to downsize some due to changes I'm going through right now.
