  1. Well I am upgrading my tank to an Oceanic 72G bowfront so I will be parting out the 36G. I will be keeping the live rock for my new tank along with most of the livestock and coral.

I just set up the entire 36G tank late May/early June and everything was bought new.

Things for sale or possibly trade:

CPR Bak-Pak 2 Skimmer with Accela 1200 pump, 3 months old, still have box - $110

Sundial T5HO 4x24w 30” light, with timer, LED lunar lights and fan. Less than a month old, still have box and receipt - $200

Rena XP1 canister filter, 4 months old, still have box - $90

Royal Gramma (killed my sixline wrasse so she must go, seems to get along fine with my other fish) - $20 or trade for beginner coral.

Over 50 pounds of crushed coral, some brand new in bag – make offer

    Possibly for sale:

3 light retrofit 48” VHO setup with 430 Icecap Ballast

Things I could use in trade or buy/trade:

    Good live rock (30 – 40 pounds)

    ASM G1 Skimmer

    48” T5 lighting setup

In interested please PM or call\text at 865-385-0908. I can take paypal. I am located in Buda, but could meet part way.

    Thanks!

    Keith

  2. This is my first post on ARC! New Member here from Buda, TX! Here is my (short as possible) adventure so far. It didn't take long after starting my first ever saltwater tank that I realized I needed to start over. Thanks to all the helpful forums and a couple LFS here in the area, I was able to fix my tank early without too many costly mistakes.

When I first started my tank a few months ago I made several mistakes due to lack of knowledge. I was using tap water, didn't have enough live rock, and added fish I never should have bought, just to name a few....

Thankfully a few helpful people pointed out my mistakes early on and I was able to turn the tank around. I did a 100% water change with RO/DI water, bought a RO/DI unit, took my yellow-tail back, added 40 more pounds of LR, and took half the crushed coral out just to name a few things!

I can now say I am VERY happy with my tank. Things are going much better so far (minus the diatom outbreak, Aiptasia hitchhiker, and now a mantis shrimp I think). Rights of passage in this hobby I hear... The fish are very happy and I added new T5 lights and a few frags last week that have really taken off!

Here is a before and after picture. I hope you enjoy and others can learn from my mistakes!
