Wow! Looks I should be underway quickly. I really appreciate all the offers.
Ty - Definitely interested in a few of your items. PM me your number and we can talk.
Offroaddodge - (Sorry I forgot your real name!) Also interested there. Maybe I should post my number and have you guys call me!
All WYSIWYG - A 36 is definitely a possibility. I would like to see what other tank offers I can get though as I am not a huge fan of bow fronts. We can talk about your hoods though. Corals and fish will be needed once I settle on a setup.
I think I will post my number. I only ask you call between 8-5 or text from 8-10. Thanks everyone!!! 512-657-5472

I did. It was an 84g cube. It never turned into what I wanted, so no good pics. Thanks!!

Some of you may know me, and some of you may not. I used to be a Mod here and was very active in the formation of this club. A couple of years ago I got out of the hobby due to finances and time. I miss it! However, I am still broke. So I came up with an idea. I am going to see if I can build an entire setup from trading. Right now I literally have nothing reef related. I am looking to build something in the 20 - 50 gallon range. I am thinking a clown fish, anemone setup with a few zoas or other soft/lps corals. I would love an auto top-off system too.
So what can I trade? I can trade services. I fix door dings and hail damage for a living. If you want your car looking new again I can help you there. Just for an idea of what that costs a typical door ding will cost anywhere from $50-100 to fix depending on size and location. Hail is always in the hundreds if not thousands. If you have hail I really recommend calling your insurance. Clint Collins can verify my work as most of my high end SPS I had in my old tank came from trading dent work for frags from him.
I also know my way around a camera. I have done photography for about 20 years now. I do portraits, weddings, model portfolio, and art. Since I am not a sponsor here I won't link to my site, but if you PM me I can get you there.
I also have some stuff I could trade. I have an Offenhauser intake manifold, a Nikkor 35-70mm lens, a tripod, and I am sure some other stuff I can dig up.
I would really like to also do this as an experiment. I would like to see if I can get exactly the system I want put together without spending a dime. I am not looking for charity (though if you want to give stuff for free I won't say no), and I am not looking to take advantage of anyone. That's why I posted what a dent repair costs. I just want to see if it is possible.
Looking forward to hopefully talking with many of you!

Drew my wife and I adopted throughout the state. I would be glad to give you our lawyers info. She might not be able to do it herself, but she would be able to refer you. She was awesome!!!

Thanks. Just now saw this!

I have been twice. To Houston and then Atlanta. The Houston one was outstanding! Atlanta would have been a big let down if not for the Aquarium. If it is in Dallas I would definitely go. I don't know what ticket prices are these days, but it is usually significantly cheaper if you buy them when they are first released.

http://airswimmers.com/ These could be a lot of fun!

Does it pay cash or fish food?
I am not against charity. If you want to "loan me your 34g Marc I will take good care of it!

I am not at the shop anymore. In fact, I started doing construction again a couple months ago. Went from being slammed to dead. So the only way I am getting a tank anytime soon is if it were free! Anyone hiring???

An update for all of you. I am still living with just the Beta. He has been named Stephen by the way. I have started to miss the smell of saltwater lately. However, work is unsure and I can't afford to get back in yet. So all of you shooting for 2012 dates keep your eyes open!
I hope everyone is doing well!

This sump was built by Brian Carlisle at Kingfish. It is built in 2 sections for easier install removal in a stand. One side has the return/fuge section (which has rock rubble in it) and the other is the skimmer/overflow area. Baffles are built into the area that bulkheads the 2 together. It worked beautifully on my old 125g. It didn't fit under the stand on the latest tank so that is why it is separate. The dimensions are 48" long x 14" front to back x 17" tall. The actual usable volume is about 30g. It used to have a tray for a filter sock, but I routed it out to give room for a bigger skimmer. The skimmer section will fit a skimmer with a footprint up to 13" x 18.5". I will also include 2 5g jugs. Please call me at 512-657-5472 $50

I think you should just drain it as is and call it the future of wild reefs. It could be an art piece.

And it is cracked and repaired. Cant exactly ask a high price. Killer skimmer for that price though.

This is it:
http://www.aquacave.com/euro-reef-rc500-recirculatingbr-protein-skimmer-wpump-1331.html
It has never been used. It got cracked in shipping, but was fixed with acrylic weld. It holds water just fine with no leaks. It comes with 3 pumps. 2 for recirculation and one to feed. Can also be plumbed into your overflow if you don't want to use the feed pump. Rated for 500+ gallons.
$450

OK so my 2 year old got very upset that her fishies were going away. So we went and got a Beta. Does that count?

Suckers! Marc is keeping his frags for at least a couple years.

Current photos. They suck with no MH. Working on getting a ballast ASAP.
Looking to see if I can build a whole setup from trades!

So thanks for all the offers, but when I told my wife about my idea she was not in agreement. Let's just leave it at that. Anyway, looks like this experiment is on indefinite hold.
