They have some real sweet clams. I just added too much to get one. But really nice with nice price too.
-
Looks good. Are those the aqua-mag rocks in back all white?
-
I read that too. We gotta get them off the dust. Its killing them.
-
Well to answer why they might be more prone to disease, I think it is as stated above. The ocean is huge and stable. Then we take fish and put them in an unstable environment depending on us to make stable. Also, we see fish we want and put them with critters they might never see in the wild. Thus creating stress. But like others have said, I have had more problems with fw than sw. But because of the cost of fw compared to sw, it hurts less to loose a dollar fish compared to a $40 fish.

Nice start. That mini over flow is nice. I, too, would be interested where you got it. Are those t-5s?

Achilles Tangs, are super sweet. Also mantis is very cool. Need dedicated tank, so hard to do that. I also think a dwarf cuddle fish would be cool but only live 6 months. There are so many.

I tried to buy that and it said out of stock. Was there only 1? Well great score. Very nice!

Ok, thanks. I will keep an eye out. Thanks pirate nemo. BTW my kids love to see what you change your avatar to. Keep it up.

When you click the link it just shows "search returns 0". Maybe no auctions. How will I know when there is an auction?
-
How do I find you on ebay? have been trying to find your auctions but never find them.

I beleive the volume of water is directly related to the health of fish and coral. I read on another forum about a guy that has a 700g tank and he has 3 1000g storage tanks that feed through his tank in the same way. He has no lights and only direct sun via sun tubes. His tank and fish are amazing. His fish look incredible. I too will have extra water for my next build. Thanks Mr saltwater. I love the video. Was this in austin? Awesome build. Maybe the owner will allow you back in a year to see progress.

its a toss up between fish and coral. I stare so much at new fish, I just worry. But then again, coral drive me crazy. I just worry so much. I want to do it right.

following. Montipora would be good because I know people say they bleach under leds. But why not try one of each type of coral. This info might help other reefers with leds on coral stocking.
-
Aqua tek some times has sw feeder shrimp. River city usually has them as well. That about all I ever see. Brine and feeder shrimp.
-
Where do you order from? I cant seem to find them.
-
I will come. My first meeting so go easy on me.

Wait, I thought we were shopping petco. Just Kidding. I have never been to a meeting but look forward to this one. Now Hunter and Gary and Terry dont have to just read ARC in silence. They are a great store and have best live stock and selection in Austin (imo). I bought a fish and coral from them yesterday. Great store. And my kids love their gum ball machine and the bathroom (always seem to use both). Get gum then straight to bathroom.

LEDs
in Reef Keeping
I have leds from nano tuners. I think my lights are too bright. It is on a 29 biocube. i have to agree, I have not seen a big tank with good leds. You are welcome to see my setup.

Lowes will cut acrylic for free. Buy a peice that meets you width then have them cut to order. You will have to cut it like the intank one. But I think you can make your own much cheaper. BTW be careful cutting the acrylic. Use a dremal. It can break.
-
I feel your pain. I bought a 2 inch anemone lobster. Acclimated him. Loved him. Put him in the tank and before he hit the bottom, my dottyback ate him. In two bites. Dang $15 meal.
-
I bought glass from binswanger on Lamar. The guy who cut my glass use to build aquariums in houston and now works there. They were very nice.
-
I kept bioballs for about a year. You should keep stock set up until you out grow it. If you know what your doing then ditch them. They wont hurt you for awhile.
-
Also, be careful not to over stock. I have two clowns and a dottyback and my tank is over stocked. That is why I added the fuge. Just something to think about.

I have had a biocube 29 for 2 years and never had a skimmer. Let me clarify, I have used the biocube skimmer and never had any skimate. So I thought that the skimmer sucked so I bought a tunze 2009 nano skimmer, still no skimate. So I have not used one in over a year and my water parameters are perfect. Now I have a 20 gallon fuge under the tank. Ran the skimmer for a while but still no skimate. Just bubbles. I dont think you will need one if you keep up with water changes. As far as coral, you can keep a lot of coral. Mushrooms, star polyp, xenia, duncans, acans, almost all polyps. Thatsa lot. You can have a very nice tank with those.

nanotuners use to have a fix for that, I think. Try emailing them. [email protected]. Nick usually reponds within a day. I remember seeing the fix but it was in 08 or 09. So that might be why I cant find it anymore.
