Um anyone else watching planet green where they just said conch snails are one of the most deadliest creatures in the world? One bite and you die?! WTF?!? I've just been picking mine up with my hand! Now I'm terrified!!!
You're fine Whit. Its specific types I believe... ones that aren't as common as our tank Conch. In the Bahamas, all they do is catch (with their hands) and each conch!
The really poisonous snails are the cone snails (genus Conus) rather than the conch snails (genus Strombus and similar). Even then, as Brooks said not all cone snails are venomous, and the really bad ones are very rarely found in the aquarium trade since they're venomous and predatory.
