the only fish i have as of now is 2 clowns...my inverts consist of about 48 blue leg hermits which i will b giving my friend half of them...the only other things i have r a miami hurricane chalice...gsp...hollywood stunner chalice...pink milli..and ora red planent..i do have alot of very tiny starfish that were on the rock when i got em...that is all of my live stock..the tank has been up for about 2 months now

I was woundering if someone could tell me if these were clownfish eggs or just sum kind of orange coraline. They appear as tiny little balls then some dissappear in a few days. Just curious. The male clown isn't swimming close to them like they r eggs or nothing.

I have this rock with gsp or sum kind of green polyps and it is just growing too fast for what I want. If anyone has sum sps or lps frags they wanna trade. Will also take 15 dollars for it. I live in bruceville so I'm pretty far away but I will b in Austin on the 23 for the RCA sale.

i have a 29g biocube..its really basic when it comes to just starting a aquarium...i liked it cause its small can kinda conveint..it doesnt have a fuge setup but there are many people who mod these things..it dont come with a skimmer either..though they sell skimmers for them..i wouldnt recomend the oceanic skimmers...i bought a tunze 9002 for mine..and i am working on modding the rear chamber for better flow and filtration..some people make the rear chamber a fuge..me..im going to buy a media basket from mediabaskets.com and put it next to my skimmer..it all depends on what u wanna do..the lighting sucks..its only pc's..so u cant keep all the nice sps corals but if u wanna upgrade u can...they r very upgradable...u can also go to nano-forums.com and read some of their forums and check them out before u actually decide to dive into the nano...hope my info was helpful to you...hope to see some pics of it soon

updaating the new goodies...i got a percula clown and i made a trip to austin and got me a vortech mp10 and a tunze 9002 protein skimmer for my tank..but im having a little problem with my skimmer and maybe someone can help me with it....ive tried to adjust the air intake to get a dry skim..but everytime i think i got it right ill leave and come back to a cup full of water..ive loosend it for more air and ive tightened it for less air flow...im just now sure how to adjust this thing...its placed at the height that the skimmers shows that its supposed to be at...can someone throw some thoughts at me.. thank you...

im not sure what the effects on an older tank would be but ive had my setup for almost a month and my ph was at 7.8 for the longest...i did a water change with ro/di water and i checked it again about an hour afterwards....my ph went up to 8.4...im not sure what ur doing ur water changes with..dont want to sound dumb or anything..im kinda new...just sharing my experience..

so i got my ro/di unit in today and im loving it...making me some water right now so i can do a water change....yay for brs

all my rock is uncured and i also got 40 lbs. of live sand for my base..

so as most of you know..im new here and i love reading the forums..well i would like to keep everyone informed on my new tank and would like to hear some responses on some ?s i may have in the future....i posted some pictures of my tank in the welcome section under local fish stores..its coming along great...im testing the water everyother day to monitor the cycling process and i have a slight ?...im logging everything in a notebook..lol..so i dont forget...ok i set the tank up on the 24th of dec. 2009..and my first test was on the 26th of dec. 2009..and my results are as follows . ph----------8.2 .ammonia---2.0ppm .nitrite-------0ppm .nitrate------5ppm and i told myself.."ok, thats pretty normal. Its looking good". so no on the 28th of dec. 2009 i took another test to see the progress..and i know that ammonia drops and nitrate rises and so on...so here are the results for today .ph-----------7.8 .ammonia---0.25ppm .nitrite-------5.0ppm .nitrate------20ppm so now here is where i run into a question..is this a normal increase for 2 days worth of cycling..i know the contrubting factors can never tell how long it will take cause its all different just like to growth of coral..but i just want to know if nitrites r suppose to jump that high in 2 days of that i just might have a good cycle and be able to start putting coral and fish in there sooner than i expected..i will continue to monitor the levels every 2 days and im sorry if i borded anyone...lol..i just like to share my hobby and interest on here with others and make sure that i learn as much as possible..thank you all and i would like to hear anyones opinion on anything..
