  1. How are you liking the hydra?

I love it! I have not had any issues. The fixture is very quiet. My jebaos are the loudest thing on my tank, and they are not loud at all. I do not have colors dancing around my tank, they're blended quite nicely because of the diffused lens. I did not use the acclimation feature because i switched from 2X250wMH's+2x65wPC's 4"AWL. I had issues with the cold weather so i dropped my MH's close to the water line to warm up the tank. All of the corals seems to notice and like the lighting switch. THey have opened up like never before. Great polyp extension and color. Use the Green and Red LED's with lower intensities or you will get algae. I started my Greens and Reds on 30% then raised them to 65% for 1 day and when i got home from work i noticed lots of brown algae on the glass. I then cleaned the glass and lowered the intensities back to 30% and the next day no issue.

  2. you will need the controller. the "new" controller has all the programming on it to run the lights. The "director acts more like a gateway where you use your PC to manage the lights and the instructions are sent from the PC via wifi to the director which then controls the lights.

I particiapted in the beta program for the director. It's much easier controlling the light using it then it is trying to make all the different adjustments using the "new" controller.

The lights arrived on tuesday without the contholler so i mounted them and will use the 20% intensity increment button on the back. I was planning on acclimating the tank with that amount of light anyways.I will also get the director.i was trying yo see if i will pick up another Hydra.

  3. Hello yall, I had a question about the AI Hydra LED. I order one last night along with the brand new wireless controller from Amazon and it showed that both units were in stock. When going through order checkout the availability changed on the controller to out of stock. My light will be here tomorrow( morning (Dec.24) but the controller will be here between Dec.27- Jan.2. i would like to know if i can control the light without the controller by using a PC or Tablet. Also, does anyone have the new wireless controller and how satified are you with it? The old controller Mr. Saltwater reviewed seemed ok, i just wanted to know the main differences? Thanks for the help in advance.

  4. I don't use the light sensor on any of my WP40s or WP25s. I figure it is one more thing to hassle with and my controllers are inside my stand so they wouldn't work anyway.

I was thinking about doing my set like that also, but just wanted to try out the night mode.

  5. I agree with you about the sand bed being free. It stays free now, nothing settles. How long have you had yours? So i can pay close attention around that time frame and see if mine will be doing the same as yours. I it also depends on the mode you keep it on. I heard that sensor works when your day setting is on W1. Thats the only setting i use . the others push my sand too much.

  6. I picked up a Jebao wp25 from a fellow ARC member and i cant believe the difference. I have been wanting more flow in my 58g tank since i set it up 4 months ago. When i plugged this pump in it blew my coral and rocks over. Some have had a mixed expereince.so far so good with me. I went through all the Modes and decided that I like (W1) with the S2 speed setting. I have another on the way through Niko's group buy. I will use it as a back up. Here is a quick video of my settings on my tank.

    And the Night mode.

  7. I can give you a few digi frags, Purple, Blue, and A Few small pieces of Monti, Red and Green. $10 total.

Can i get some of that frag pack action?

And You're down the street from me too.

Yep. i always wanted to see your tank up close also!

  8. Im ready whenever! I might have to get 2 MP25's for those prices.

LMK how many you want? We can always add to the order. I just gave those 2 #'s for the units so I could get them to crunch prices for me. I knew there were a few people who were undecided on how many they wanted or which 1 they wanted. I'm pretty sure we can hit those #'s or more, if everyone who was interested is still interested.

I think one should do it in a 58g.

  9. I have a 58 gallon tank that has a lighting set up of 2 x 250w MH's(Plusrites20K) with 2 x 65w PC's(Sunpaq420nm). I was thinking about making the jump to a LED set for heat concerns. All of my corals and fish are thriving. I just would like to get rid of the fans that i have blowing over the tank. I was think about getting 1 panel of the AI Hydra LED. I started researching LEDS and scme across this video. At 7min and 30secs into this video they started talking about LEDs stripping flesh off the Acans.

    Check it out!

  10. I started my 60g with dried up live rock from my old tank. I would like to seed my tank with a few bristleworms. Does any have a couple to spare? I also would like to know if anyone is having any issues with their tanks after starting it with dry rock. This is my first try at Dead rock. NO issues so far, just checking around.
