Ah, ran out of space in the Topic Title to complete my "I will Survive" freshwater remix.
I was a member a couple of years ago (I remembered my login! yay!) Got caught up in the mortgage scandal of 2010 and had to move from a house to an apartment. But now I'm back into another house, and am setting up a new 210g tank!
I currently have a 46 gallon bowfront freshwater tank with the following:
Fish:
2x Blackmoor goldfishies (6" and 4")
2x ryukin goldfishies (5" & 3")
1x oranda goldfishy (4")
1x albino common/commet (3")
1x lionhead(back?) blind (no eyes! not born with them) goldfishy (3")
1x super fancy and elegent calico goldfishy (Princess of the ball, she thinks) (6")
1x Rubber-lipped pleco (3.5") (Lazy)
1x Senagal Bichir (5") (AKA: shrimp-nommer)
3x Japanese Trapdoor Mystery Snails (1")
13x Olive Nerite Snails
5x Amano Shrimp (2")

Live Plants:
2" Seachem Onyx Sand
6 or 7 bunches of Anacharis
3 little patches of dwarf grass
1x 4" strip of MicroSword (hoping it will turn into a lawn)
5 or 6 bunches of ludwigga
2x wisteria (huge)
Equipment:
1x 46 gallon bowfront + stand + glass top
1x ahsupply.com retrofitted 96 watt power compact light (No heater, this thing keeps my tank at 75F 24/7.
2x Aquaclear 110's with Fluval Edge filters serving as pre-filters/anti-shrimp siphon devices, sponge that comes with it, quilt batting for polishing, and ceramic rings for bio.
1x Fluval Q2 air-pump
DIY CO2 setup with 2x 2-litter bottles as my reactors, 1x 2-litter bottle as my catch-all, and fluval bubble-counter and fluval CO2 diffuser. Oh, and Fluval CO2 monitoring kit.
1x roman pillar decor (ceramic)
1x fluval log (ceramic)
1x small bridge (ceramic)

So the 46g is my "current" tank, and the wifey has the 10g tank. I purchased a 210g tank (84"x24"x24") on craigslist for $300 (what a steal!). This will be my "New" tank, and the wife will get the 46g, and I'll get the 10g back as my quarantine tank. Leak tested, is flawless. Came with a horrible stand that I do not think could support the weight of the tank when even 1 gallon of water is in it. So currently I'm working on building a new stand and canopy. Once thats done, I'll order lights and maybe some more filtration...still contemplating the sump/refugium option.
The lights I'm still in the dark on. I need to find a PAR meter to make sure my plants "flourish". Anyone know where I can rent one? :-D

My wife will be there promoting her new practice. She is a new OB/GYN physician at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.
O RLY? Whats your wife's name? My wife and I arent too fond of the OB we have at CP/ARC right now.

Guess the stereotypical clownfish will win

Johnny Rooter just left. I now have 2 open drains and $187 less to show for it.
Quick work and the guy wants to start a reef tank now...
Johnny Rooter is one of my customers for computer repair, good bunch of people there.
In regards to pest control, call HomeTeam Pest Defense. http://www.pestdefense.com/ I use them every quarter. No bugs...ever.

Yet another service I didn't know you provided.
We should make a new topic with all the services he provides, and add to it when we find out about new ones
-
I have a contact @ Alpha Graphics.
We should put reef_pug in a fish costume, and set him in the front yard :-D
-
Chat rooms in the past were not successful. Sorry, not going to add another one.
Ah, didnt know you had before
-
if really valued, I would recommend making a "vacation" of it. Fly there, get the fish, fly back

Hey, no fair having a husband and wife team...
It's a conspiracy

Is that better?
Man, it really makes it "POP"
-
I would like to see a realtime chat box, mayhaps in the upper right corner somewhere :-D
-
Wooops. Sorry I get carried away. Been researching seahorses all night.
I think the wifey wants a nano strictly for seahorses and pipefish.
-
I guess I better put one in
You could make that a lil "enhanced" with some brightness/contrast adjustment. Download picasa http://picasa.google.com. run the "I'm feeling lucky" on this photo
Reguardless, beautiful :-P
-
yeah, but I know in the past ones have been submitted that weren't taken by the submitter. Just think it'd add something to see what is in local tanks around town.
...and these pics are amazing...
I see how you get so many posts in one day...

Has anyone here ever ordered from them before?
My brother has, he swore by them..told me I should always use them if I order online for livestock...
-
You guys are crazy :-D

Is this the dreaded enemy?
I fired off an email to the Wet Web Media folks to get their input. It looks like what they call Cyano and/or blue green algae. Though clearly it's not blue or green.
Curiously enough, it only showed up after the GHA has decreased. I also noticed some Calupera popping back up.
w/e it is, it's pretty

I'll play.
Beautiful

Your rock should be fine as far as the problem you are facing. You'll end up picking up more as you get frags. You also might want to check with prof and get some "dead rock" to add to your current setup. Its a lot cheaper and will get seeded by the rest of the rock over time. For a reef I would be looking at at least 40 pounds but that's more for long term health and certainly shouldn't be killing off fish like you are seeing.
For the drip I forgot to mention, get one of the $1.99 veggie clips to hold the tube in the tank with.
For your pump you just need to know the Gallons Per Hour (GPH) and divide by the size of your tank. Recommended for soft corals/polyps is 10x water flow or higher. So your tank water is being filtered through your system 10 times per hour or more.
You stole my thunder
So I'm back. From out of space. I just looked in to find you here with fish

Thanks Robb! If only I was as talented as John Travolta....
