$1700.00 for a 72 gal tank???? Geezzzz maybe I should stick to cross-stitching!
Gkarshens I don't know who's tank you are talking about but I know it's not mine. Nothing nice about browned out zoos.
Andrew how's your tank doing? When you get ready to upgrade to something a little nicer, let me know I might know someone interested in yours.
You know you have it bad when you dream about acros and cleaning out your skimmer cup even after you've been out of the hobby for almost a year. Heck I even bought a house on Coral Ridge thinking that would cure my itch but it hasn't. Now only if I can convince my wife I need to spend two months salary on a new tank I'll be set!

I'm thinking about setting up a small scale reef tank in my living room and need some help. I'm thinking I want to stick with a small tank, maybe under 100 gallons and try to keep SPS and maybe a clam or two. What would you recommend as far as equipment and how much should I plan on spending for a turn key tank?
Thanks in advance-
Clint

Not sure how old it is but the carb was rebuilt last year and it has a fresh coat of paint. Starts on first pull, also has electric start.

Someone should take a pic of the cube @ Kingfish. It would have my vote.

Time for an update:
Gabe came over this morning and helped me solve my problem of the canopy being too big and also helped me install my lights. Later John came over and aqua-scaped the tank, then we added water and sand. Due to a few plumbing leaks we could not turn on the return but for now the streams are on and the sand is starting to settle.

Today has been a busy day but a lot was accomplished. The tank is fully plumbed and all I need to do is add H2O and make a slight mod to my canopy. Here are a few progress pics. More to come.....

I think it might be in.

My stand and canopy have turned to petrified wood
-
Tank should be here next week
-
The bulbs have about 3 months of use. $60.00 for the pair.
-
The pair are about 50% used which means about 3-4 more months of use. $50.00 for the pair.
-
Bulbs were fired for a few months $80.00 takes the pair

I had the pleasure to see this tank live and it is a sight. Hard to imagine that his tank is wider than most peoples tank is long.
-
Korallin C-3002—Rated for up to 800gal. Reactor height: approx. 28.00"; Diameter: 4.50"; Ground: 6.30"; Filling amount: 6 kgs (13.2lbs); Eheim 1048 Pump. $380.00
NOTE: Does not come with Co2 regulator or tank.
-
Here is what the external overflow will almost look like. Instead of going the entire length of the tank, I'm leaving a foot on either side to place streams.
-
Check with kingfish, when I was there last they had a few.
-
Here are some pics and yes the tank only has a few minor scratches that are very hard to notice. My cell is 512-350-9519. I am off this week so you could swing by and take a look if you like.

Dave- A few questions:
How long has your system been set up?
Do you know the TDS (total dissolved solids) of the R.O. water you are using in your salt mix?
How often do you perform water changes?
What type of filtration are you running?

Good to see the blue selago made it Andrew. It's grown a ton from that tiny little frag that never should have made it. You don't know this but when I first added the fish and corals the tank temp was 64 deg by mistake. Make sure it has plenty of room around it to grow because it grows fast.
