FloridaBoy
I treated myself to a new IM 30g tank for Christmas this year and decided I wanted to make it a FW planted with some shrimp. I had just sold my 90g FW planted tank so I transferred the best plants and the remaining fish over to the new tank. I decided to downsize because I found the 90g very difficult to maintain as a planted tank as it was high and had a cover. Anytime I needed to work on the tank bottom to thin or move plants I had to get a stepladder and half lean into the tank to reach. Anyway, here is the setup: 30 gallon Innovative Marine Nano Tank 36" Fluval Fresh & Plant 2.0 LED Light and a 36" Finnix Planted + 24/7 LED Light Substrate base is a 50/50 mix of Miracle Grow Organic Potting soil and grey clay from the back yard, topped with Flourite Black Sand C02 injection ~3 bubbles a second, Dosing Seachem Flourish, Iron, and Trace on alternating days. Softened Tap water, RO for daily top-off Critters: 6 Amano Shrimp, 5 Cardinal Tetras, 1 Mystery Snail, 1 Rabbit Snail, and two Nerite Snails. Hoping to introduce some Cherry shrimp next.
