prof
Some people are commenting that it is cruel but I don't really understand why. I would love to add a couple of glass shells to my tank to see if any of my crabs would move into them. Any idea where I can get some? Christian
but adding glass shells to the tank and if the hermit crab moves it it the fish that eat them will try to attack them.
prof
The fish will attack the crab in a regular shell. They will only try once and give up when they find out the shell is protecting the crab. Of course I don't keep crabs with crab eatin fish
Gonzobob
I'm with prof. Did some internet searching but didn't find anything. If anyone knows where to get some of these, or is friendly with a glass blower up to a challenge...
+capty99
i think it was one off for a science magazine, i feel like i've seen this before. though if you could make those on the cheap i bet you could sell a few
Zarathustra2
I think you could sell quite a few. At least to science classes. I think the land hermit market would be huge. I know I would get a few for my daughter in law
JamesL
But wouldn't you have problems with algae growing on it, thus ruining the desired effect? I agree with prof on this, I don't think it is cruel... if the hermit does not like it, it would switch out shells.
