cmanning
Did anyone notice after the rain.... thousands of little bugs (flying insects) just came out of from the wooded areas. Makes me wonder if they're termites or what. I caught one so I'm off to investigate the little creature.

cmanning
As soon as it finish raining....here they come swarming everywhere. Drywood termites. Drywood Termites (can survive in very dry wood) Drywood termites have a low moisture requirement and can tolerate dry conditions for long periods. They are a non subterranean species and remain above ground and do not connect their nests to the soil as do many other termite species. Drywood termites usually swarm at night and are light yellowish-brown. They feed across the grain of the wood, creating chambers and/or galleries. When you find their galleries you will most likely find it packed with fecal pellets.
